I have good taste in food selections.  :icon_sunny:

At least I can still enjoy the visual component.  ::)

Sukiyaki

Before I got into Sashimi, Sukiyaki was my main "go to" entree to order at Japanese restaurants, along with Shrimp Tempura.

Chili!

That looks damn good. I've had chili lately, but I haven't made any personally. I think it's time to whip up a big pot.

I used to love making Chili.  :(  It was one of the first "recipe" type dishes I ever made with many ingredients, probably around age 12.

Today there is no way I can make a batch of Chili.  It would end up going bad before I even finished one bowl's worth.

I'm a Wick Fowler 2 Alarm kinda guy.

Most people have seen the pre-fab chili kits in the stores, but not many remember Wick and his story.

He was an old school Texas journalist who won the very first Terilingua Chili Cook-Off. My childhood BF used to like to hit that event. I never got around to it.

Twin Steamed Live Lobsters!

(Just the Lobster, Please.)

Here at the Diner, we have many Lobster dishes on the menu.  They'll be featured as Specials in the bye & bye.  As Chief Cook & Bottlewasher though, I thought I would start off with my own favorite from back when I lived on the East Coast ad hit many New England Crab Shacks for a lobster meal, as well as hitting the beach on numerous occasions doing clam bakes, which also featured lobster all steamed in seaweed in a pit dug in the sand.  Just a nice live lobster with drawn butter and fresh lemon was always my favorite seafood dish growing up.  Usually you didn't REALLY get "just the lobster" though, they came with a Baked Potato and/or Corn on the Cob.

Atmosphere in a typical Crab Shack was very informal, usually brown paper for the table cloths and sawdust on the floor.  Finding the good ones was the real challenge.  I don't know if such places even exist anymore.  Can't find any pics on them when I Google.

Coffee is understood to go with all Diner breakfasts.

Here at the Diner we are famous for our 666 varieties of coffee beans and the "Endless Espresso".  :icon_sunny:

Nice. I serve good coffee (mostly to me) at the office. My assistant bought me breakfast tacos this morning. They were awesome.

Next week the Diner will be featuring Ethnic foods, where each day will be dedicated to one country or ethnicity's traditional foods.  We will have a Mexican day.  :icon_sunny:

The Classic BLT!

This was one of my favorites to make for myself at home growing up.  The one above looks most like the ones I made of the many pics you get Googling this one.  White toast, carefully cropped lettuce & tomatoes, 3 slices of bacon divided in half and layed over each other at right angles.  Just enough Mayo to coat both slices of bread.  Wash down with Fresh Lemonade.  YUM!

A sure crowd pleaser on any day, at any time.

Classic, indeed.
