I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind

It was John Perkins' book that finally pried my eyes open as to the real workings of Empire.

I can't imagine how Perkins hasn't had an accident with a nail-gun or something - Hedges and Chomsky too.

It's not fresh material, however spirit moved me to run
this up the old flagpole.

Good for newbies.

TPTB aren't worried about people who write anything longer than 140 characters.

Like Surly I was awakened to the horrific tactics of our American Imperialism by this book. It has also puzzled me why he hasn't been killed, like Palloy suggests. He is extremely active, with writing new books, and speaking engagements.

They don't care.  They feel invulnerable.  It doesn't matter what despicable crimes or tactics they use, nobody really cares about this unless it affects them personally.  Most people have no comprehension whatsoever of how the international banking system works, and they could care less.  As long as they are still employed and getting a paycheck, it is irrelevant to their lives.  Kim Kardashian's baby is much more interesting and understandable.

I suspect that those at the top act more rationally than most people. How would they benefit by murdering someone like John Perkins?

It would be different if he had the ear of the larger public, but as RE says, they aren't smart enough anymore to follow the money trail and understand the scam. So all those people, Hedges, Perkins, Chomsky...and others like Daniel Ellsberg, they don't matter. They aren't going viral on ConformBook. They pose no real threat.
