"We have two American flags always: one for the rich and one for the poor. When the rich fly it means that things are under control; when the poor fly it means danger, revolution, anarchy."

--Henry Miller

"Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself."

The manger is a very small place
There is no room in the manger for all of the baggage we carry around with us.
There is no room at the manger for our pious pride and self-righteousness.
There is no room at the manger for our human power and prestige.
There is no room at the manger for the baggage of past failure and unforgiving sin.
There is no room in the manger for our prejudice, bigotry and jingoistic national pride. There is no room for bitterness or greed.
There is no room at the manger for anything other than the absolute reality of who and what we are, very human, very real, very fragile, very vulnerable human beings who desperately need the gift of love and grace which God so powerfully desires to give us.

--James Harnish

Actually, there are countless ways to live upon this tremorous sphere in mirth and good health, and probably only one way - the industrial, urbanized, herding way - to live here stupidly, and man has hit upon that one way.
