Something strange is going on.  Read his blog.

I wasn't  pleased to see him writing about banging a friend of Tony Robbins.  I'm not innocent and I can be outrageous but I didn't like seeing that.  I reset his website counter to zero in my world so he has to work all the way back to being the first in my list of brown links now.  He can consider it a traffic ticket.

I once shook hands with Tony Robbins. lol.

Long  story.....I never spent any money on his scams. Walking on fire is not something I ever felt the need to for.......

I did read C5's blog today.....been awhile. Sounded like he's mostly just been working his plan. Maybe just.vacation....time  for some R & R. They are south-of-the-border savvy and know what they're doing. I used to think El Salvador had potential for ex-pat living....but not so much lately. They've had a lot of violence lately.

Pretty much everything there owned by ex-pats is up for sale, cheap. Sad, really.

I used to work with a woman who upon her retirement, cashed out and with her husband was headed for El Salvador. No idea how that turned out, but this thread has made me wonder.

If you liked her hope they cashed out and bought into Nicaragua I guess.  Ex-pats are in a strange situation.  Most Americans don't have savings but to be an E-Pat you do have some.  But you are not rich and certainly not rich enough to be nice.  Super rich people are always nice.  That has been my experience.

They can afford to be.

Ugh... This northern boy would melt... The cost of living index was a fun find for the day. Compared to El salvador I would say cost of living is cheaper here compared to El salvador. Food and rent wise. Lots of extra costs here of course, much higher taxes, transportation. I can't imagine doing the Ex pat thing. I hope all is well and Mr and Mrs C5 are doing one of their extended work/cations as they have before. Building things on the fringe is burn out kind of work I get it... I will be doing that myself soonish. We have now closed on a new piece of property. About 1 hour south of here but more remote mostly. 5.5 acres of fields, 3 acres of garden clearing, the rest of the 24 acres wooded... Starting from scratch but better financed this time and hopefully wiser.

Ill see your beach bum music and raise you some hill billy

I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world.
You don’t know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind

I grew up with cows. Lots of experience with cows and most other livestock. Never had sheep though. No sheep where I grew up. We did have goats and fowl.

I never met a Live Cow.  However, I butchered a lot of Dead Cows at Capsuto Freres.  It was my main job.  We sourced our meat from an organic farm in Upstate NY and got whole sides of beef to butcher ourselves into steaks, prime rib, etc.

Also butchered 2 Moose from scratch, 1 Caribou and 1 Bear.  That is a very messy job.

I grew up in Dairy country so we always had a young cow to feed up. We usually kept it at an uncle's down the road. We tried sheep but if you look too intently at sheep they will die... Chickens are my speed for now. Plenty of eggs and some annoying males to slaughter. One can dream though. My partner has an entire childhood of cows and is not too keen on the idea.

Love this threads comments.
Don't know why C-5 would want to go to El Salvador other than to experience what slow motion collapse will be like (how do you protect yourself in such a dangerous place?).
As a city boy and now rural retiree I only do chickens. Thought about goats, sheep or maybe a pig but the infrastructure costs of fencing, stalls AND the ongoing costs of time and money for feed don't seem to make much sense (especially for a vegetarian ). Their (other livestock) only advantage is they make sense from a resilient homestead/regenerative agriculture point of view.
Glad to see Eddie posting once in a while!!
