Trump's announcement that withdrawing US troops from South Korea is NOT on the agenda for Summit 1 means that Summit 1 won't be successful.  Hopefully there will be a Summit 2 with a different agenda, but an attack on NK is more likely given the hubris involved and the escalation of tensions being provoked around the world, see Geopolitics.

Those tensions alone are plenty. Add to those the domestic pressures from the Mueller probe, the Cohen tapes, and having to rendition Melania to a prison in Thailand to keep her from publicly leaving him. Trump will readily sacrifice Americans to save himself, just as Hitler was prepared to sacrifice the German people at war's end.

All bullshit aside is this fucking maniacal Trump hatred ever going to end here for a day at least.

Aren't you blowing this Melania situation out of hand. The man is a womanizer, has been married three times, everyone knows what he is including her. He never represented himself as a holy or exemplary family man

Now your accusing him of murdering her, and claiming his going to sacrifice lives of Americans, comparing him to Hitler, how disgusting.

Grow up will you all. The man is a human being, has a mother a father wives and children and is an American Citizen.

He was elected by your fellow citizens, he didn't seize power. Hate him all you wish but after a few years of this shit it's time to act like adults.

Golden Oxen, if you actually believed that hell existed, you would not repeat your TOO OFTEN repeated braggadocio about how rich you are and how all of us "saints" will get our "reward in heaven" while you "end up in Hell".

Yeah, that's true. BUT, YOU DON'T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT!

Golden Oxen does not like to have his life style questioned (see below):

Your correct Agelbert, I don't believe there is a hell for people who do not want to spend their life and their families being poor.

Nor a heaven for those who became poor through drugs and boozing and partying.

Nice talking to you Anthony,  GO

How cleverly reductionist of you. Cut the bullshit, GO. You don't have ANY conditions on your NONbelief in the existence of Hell or Heaven. Your vulgar, empathy deficit disordered stereotype demonising of the poor is typical of your rather limited empathy for disadvantaged people, none of which have abandoned their family or partied, but have been subjected to social injustices you deliberately pretend are not there. Your clever positioning of your greed based life style as "worthy" of Heaven because you are "just taking care of your family", not worshipping your STUFF while you rationalize that those who have it "deserve" it and those who don't have it "deserve" not to have it.

THIS is your Hell deserving religion, Mr. Golden Oxen:

Quote
"Capitalist ideology claims that the world is perfectly ordered and everybody is in their place (i.e. everybody gets what they deserve). This self legitmating aspect of Capitalism is Socially Catastrophic. This is the Victorian view of the world." Rob Urie - Author " Zen Economics"

Sir, you don't believe there is a hell, PERIOD. If you did, you would not routinely work so hard to earn a place there. Have a nice day.

No way. Because Melania along with Baron is the last straw. He needs to be taken down before he destroys us all and the whole planet.

When you own the fact that you can't handle criticism of Trump because you support his dastardly, empathy deficit disordered, immoral, vulgar, might is right world view, then maybe you can claim a basis for your endless whining. Until then, the only one into nauseatingly repetitive bullshit is you.

30k $ new car driven 30 yrs and scrapped or sold for 500$ = 1k $ / year with say another 1k yr registration and insurance.

2 vehicles in storage units at say 50$/month each = at least 1200$/ yr, 12k $/ decade, 36k$/ 30 yrs.

Registration on 3 vehicles = 3k$/ yr, 30k $/ 30 yrs.

Battery cost x3 or aporox 300$ every 3 yrs, 3k$ over 30 yrs instead of 1k $ for one car.

If average purchase price of vehicles is 5k$, x 5 = 25k$.

Stamp duty and transfer fee on each 5k$ vehicle say 500$.

So if u owned these one at a time, would break even with buying new and driving it 30yrs. Never selling any puts you way way behind in what you pay, total cost around 100k$.

The 07 ML320 hand me down merc i use in the city had a problem with idle going all over the place, even up to 2000rpm at times, especially when cold. I thought it was the MAF (mass air flow) or MAP (mass air pressure) sensor as in the original article. That is either a hot wire that is cooled by the passing air, or a paddle that moves by air pressure and the movement measured. Both tell the ecu how much fuel to deliver at closed loop (not accelerating) for maximum lean and economy. I did that job and it didnt resolve, the problem. I figured its the computer and it could either be reset or replaced and that would be very expensive. I took it to mechanic friend who found an air leak in the injection fixed it. Now i have an occasional intermittent problem with the thing surging when you first drive off. Could easily cause you to run into a car in front of you. No point taking it in because it will not do it then. If you surmised the problem is the badge, partly true. The mechanic friends workshop is always full of euro cars with electric faults. But computerisation and problems are getting to the japanese too by nature of the ever increasing amount of gadgetry.

In anything pre efi i could figure out problems and fix them myself, now you need to be a hacker to have a chance. Engine lights come on with nothing wrong even in japanese vehicles. It costs you time and money to take it in to be reset. Just disconnect the battery and a dozen things need reprogramming. Reverse cameras are intermittent at best, seats with heating, cooling, massage or just 5 electric adjustments WILL stop working, and you HOPE it is in a comfortable position where u can touch the wheel and pedals when it happens. No cig lighter socket because u have USB on a hifi come computer on the dash,  now with wireless charging for apple and android..via your microwaved ovaries and testicles. If all this is economical to try and keep working long past warranty, I will be surprised.

Funny timing you folks are onto this subject. The next article I started working on this week is - SHTF Driving... or, C5 turns a Honda Civic into a Truck.
No use doubling my efforts here. As usual, the survival training is about challenging unquestioned BAU thinking. Im sure a few of you have heard the pop reference, "That is very 2007of you".
If 2018 problems are trying to be solved with 2007 solutions, it is one of the fastest ways to reduce your resilience to shocks on the bumpy road down.

Any vehicle is the absolute WORST investment we will ever make. It is pouring you labour and life into a hole in the ground. There are no good answer to this subject that doesnt involve personal austerity. The only realistic option is changing your life instead of changing your vehicle.... and expecting less.

Well, once again I have to make a couple of points that I think might influence your thinking, even though you (and even my buddy Palloy) have a POV that I can understand, if not totally agree with.

If LD were here (he's been absent, and busy, I expect) he could tell you that most of us live in BAU whether we want to or not, because we have good reasons for that, involving having money to pay bills.

People who totally reject BAU and go off-grid and off the BAU reservation are best off following your advice as closely as they can. Let me say that up front. Palloy too. Powering down is good. It's even righteous behavior, in my view.

But consider.

What is an investment?

An investment, to me has to be an asset. Something that feeds you. For most people, a vehicle is not an asset. It is a liability, something that EATS them.

But not always.

My father used to say "Some people work to support their truck, but my truck works to support me". And in his case, he was right. He used it in his second job, which was building ag infrastructure for people, like fences, corrals  and barns.

Money spent in acquisition of an asset that feeds you is not money burned. It's a cost of doing business. Even socialists and anarchists need to wake up and smell the coffee on that one. Everybody eats.

The Mexicans get this. For a Mexican living in Texas, more than half of the trucks they own are probably decent assets. They use them to make a living. The younger, second generation guys who have day jobs like Anglos? Not so much. They fall into that other category my Dad was taking about.

Now, in my case, it might NOT be true that a truck is an asset. I don't need it to feed me. Not as long as BAU continues.

For one thing, I'm losing my ass farming, so far.

But, I do have a responsibility to take care of the animals I raised. I won't let them starve, or shoot them in the field to get rid of them, and I NEED a truck to continue what is for me an expensive (but useful) experiment in how I think I night need to live in the future.

My real plan is to patch my old truck up and use it to complete the ending of my swine-herding experiment. At that point, I take stock of whether I need a truck at all.

But I know, from many years of living and driving pick-up trucks, that having one is ALWAYS convenient. My extended family borrows mine constantly, so it provides some usefulness to a dozen people or more. And I did make a very conscious decision to buy trailers to use for my projects, rather than a big flatbed and a dump truck. As long as I feel like I need the trailers, owning a truck is necessary.

Remember ( or maybe you don't even know) I have a storage warehouse business, and I haul all manner of people's abandoned crap to the dump.

Every decision I make around money is carefully reasoned. I do not buy much on impulse. Everything I spend money for is either clearly an asset, or at least something that I think might have some future value.

That's another reason that when some fool on the internet wants to give me grief about my BAU lifestyle and my wastefulness, I don't put up with their silly shit.

Most of those people are hypocrites anyway. They just don't happen to have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, and it's very easy for them to be critical of people who have managed to somehow make a decent life in this collapsing world. You are the exception, not the rule.

I write about money, investments, micro-businesses and my farming experiments to maybe help somebody who might benefit from doing the things I've done that have worked well for me. Not one person in a hundred readers, probably a thousand readers, gets any benefit from what I write. They're too busy rationalizing their own failures and justifying their own POV.

This is not meant as a poke at you C5. I just like you and would like to influence your thinking while we're both able to have this long distance communication, which won't always be around.
That wasnt actually meant to come across as a jab. I had meant to add that the only reason to Invest in one of these is if you a doing a job where it is making you money.... but I was only doing a short note. That unfortunately is not what I see when I observe those that have them. One of the lines I will be putting in the article is, someone is going to tell me that I can do so much more if I had a truck. The answer is OF COARSE!!!! Well Duh.

But as you point out, every part of MY life is about Down Shifting. Every decision is based on detachment. Going off reservation. Do I still drive? Yup. Do I still buy stuff? Yup. Do I still spend money? You betcha. Havent escaped yet.

But part of my philosophy, is accepting that what a collapse really looks like as opposed to the books and movies, is that one day, you get that hand shake and a pink slip, and so does almost every one you know, a couple years go by and you finally realize you may never have a "Job" again that pays enough to live on. And that there is the focus point to all the crazy shit I do. Gas is rising again. It will do so.... until it sets off the next Limans event or commodities crash. Then we will repete the cycle. getting hollowed out more each cycle. The 2007 joke is more about Acceptance that THE COLLAPSE is not a future event. Its here. In fact, it is in the rear view mirror.

On the home front, we wont be putting our motorcycles on the road this year. First time in forever. That is a hard day for a biker. But it wasnt MrsC5s decision. It was mine. belts must be tightened and our money put into more productive ventures. We can be kick ass... or we can get another shipping container. I want the container.

Sorry you're having to make that sacrifice. I've wanted to take  some kind of motorcycle road trip for a long time and it never has worked out, even though I own the best motorcycle I ever had and it sits in the garage gathering dust. I debate getting rid of it. (Highly doubtful).

When I got home I started it up and it still runs perfect. Gotta love fuel injection. I should keep it on a trickle charger though.

No. Not for a minute.

Defend him as you will, and own the white nationalism, rampant criminality, utterly disgusting racism that drips, drips, drips from him. like gonorrhea, grifting, and the lies, lies, the incessant lies. Yeah, that's your boy.

You go nourish yourself with the corn picked out of his turds. Bon appetit.

In re Melania, she hasn't been seen in 22 days. Her twitter account has made a single post, in language clearly not hers. So WHERE is she?

I think she is leaving his ass,and he has her sequestered. Got a better idea?

Carefull with that big guy. Mine has been sitting since we left for south america. There is no way I will risk firing it up till I can drain the tank and carbs. I may be forced to have the carbs cleaned anyhow if the old gas has gummed it up.

Thanks for the thought though, but it is not as dire as it sounds. The complete opposite.

FYI, for anyone reading, I consider myself grossly and obscenely wealthy if you consider my real, tangeble net wealth. My Goddess, I am functionally retired at 51 and have a view of rolling hills... but only if I continue to "Work The Program".(lol) "The C5 program"
I could quite literally go out and buy a new truck tomorrow and pay cash. But that would take away a chunk of my long term freedom  and security. If I continue to live by the rules I learned while poor, I am set untill I die. If an overnight collapse happened and I lose my old age money I'm still good. My prepps and food production skills are good enough to not starve. I am far more prepared for a fast crash. Its the slow drawn out one that is the real pain. I may be accumulating  alot of broken down thousand dollar cars (enough to look like a real farm) but I will never have to suck up to another person in my life. That is why I am a cocky bastard. Practice.  :evil4: ;D I am truely privlaged

I couldn't care less if she leaves him or not. Marital problems are nothing new for heads of state, especially womanizers. There is much evidence Old man Kennedy paid big dough to sweet Jackie O to keep her from leaving, another spoiled brat that ended up in the brothel of a Greek shipping magnate after the assassination. She means as much to me as his last two wives. While I find Melania to be an agreeable person, she is obviously no Little Bo Peep as you Trump haters are now trying to make her out to be. You all hated her guts and ridiculed her right down to the shoes she wore, before this latest situation gave you haters a new opening to cry and lament about being losers with your happily married  :icon_mrgreen: crooked Hillary candidate.

I shall take you offer to start defending our President from now on, hope you will allow me to and it wasn't just talk, and own what I like about him and disown what I don't like as well Surly.

It is Sunday however, a special day for me, and plan to post my usual Sunday fare which I find to be much more enjoyable and friendly a topic than political bickering.

Always welcome, and far more preferable.
Really enjoyed the pix. Each inviting wonder at the story behind the picture. Still marveling at the Israeli "faceplate" pic. WTF?

Is this also a sign of collapse, that we have resigned all taboos towards consanguinity in sexual relations apropos of let us say, chimpanzees? That the so called leader of a former free world can refer to his own offspring with such base lack of true parenthood and lack of parenting ideals, with no repression of debased and debasing fantasies imbedded in a skull run riot with cruel narcissism so prevalent in his own surrounding milieu.

Good question, KK. What Trump has done is unleashed the floodgates of aberrant behavior, as he has approved virulent white nationalism and racism with a wink and a nod. Now we are mainstreaming pedophilia, incest, spousal rape, and the so-called "intel" movement of dateless and desperate fuckwits who, having no agency, can only feel good about themselves by denying women theirs.

He’s pro-incest, pedophilia, and rape.
He’s also running for Congress from his parents’ house.

Nathan Larson lives with his parents, and spends most of his waking hours on the Internet in between intermittent work as an accountant. And it’s mostly there that he’s developed some views that put him on the extreme fringes of society.

He believes in instituting a patriarchal system, with women under the authority of men; he supports abolishing age restrictions for marriage and laws against marital rape; he believes that white supremacy is a “system that works,” that Hitler was a “good thing for Germany,” and that incest should be legalized, at least in the context of marriage. And at one point in a conversation with The Post, he seemed to express admiration for the system run by the Taliban in Afghanistan, noting that the country’s birthrate fell as a consequence of increased opportunities for women after the United States’ more than decade-long intervention.

But Larson, 37, is hoping to take his views toward the mainstream by mounting a campaign for a congressional seat in Virginia, running as an independent libertarian for the state’s 10th district, a swath of land across three counties in Northern Virginia outside the Washington suburbs. The seat is currently held by Republican Barbara Comstock, but has attracted strong Democratic interest; Hillary Clinton won the district by 10 percentage points in 2016.

Bill Redpath, a Libertarian party official, told The Post that Larson was expelled from the Libertarian Party of Virginia last year.

Larson’s campaign, which is his latest run after failed campaigns for Virginia’s governorship and state legislature, has drawn attention for Larson’s unabashedly extreme views. The HuffPost reported this week that Larson had created two websites that catered to the furthest fringes of the Internet: suiped.org and incelocalpse.today, information that Larson confirmed in an interview with The Post.

Both websites have since been removed by their domain hosts. Suiped or Suicidal Pedophiles, was a site and self-described organization created to lobby for pedophiles and other convicted or potential sex offenders to be able to kill themselves at clinics legally, according to cached images.

According to a cached image, Incelocalypse was created to “serve as both headquarters and casual hangout for the hardest core of the hardcore incels,” the small but vocal community of “involuntary celibates” online who rage against feminism and a system of female empowerment that has deprived them of sexual gratification, an Internet subculture that has begun to draw some attention by mainstream media outlets.

[Inside the online world of ‘incels,’ the dark corner of the Internet linked to the Toronto suspect]

Larson said he considers himself to be part of the “incel movement” and said his views took a turn for the more extreme after an acrimonious divorce. In 2015, his former wife was granted a restraining order against him after Larson returned to Virginia, where he grew up, from Colorado. And though his ex-wife later committed suicide, a custody battle unfolded for a child of his that she gave birth to after they split up, according to local media accounts. The El Paso County Attorney at the time, Robert Kern, argued successfully that Larson would not be a fit parent, according to the Colorado Springs Independent. Larson said he has only met his daughter once, during a supervised visit with a social worker.

Larson also has a criminal record. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to threatening to kill the U.S. president, for which he served 16 months in federal prison and three years of supervision upon his release. In a previous interview with The Post, he called a letter he sent to the Secret Service in 2008 warning of imminent plans to assassinate either President George W. Bush or President Barack Obama, an act of civil disobedience meant to call attention to the tyranny of the U.S. government. He also has a couple of misdemeanor convictions: One for the “use of computer for harassment,” which Larson says was related to a lewd email he sent a woman while he was in college, and two others that pertain to marijuana possession.

Some conservatives have used Larson’s candidacy to attack Virginia’s voting laws, after Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) restored voting and other civil rights to thousands of convicted felons across the state, including Larson.

Larson filed the initial paperwork with the Virginia Board of Elections to certify his latest candidacy in May. He said that he has also submitted the 1,000 signatures of potential voters required to run for Congress in Virginia. He said the goal of his candidacy was to try to “build a movement” and wasn’t too worried about whether his message would resonate with voters.

“Build the morale among the incels help get them focused and get some traction,” he said.

According to Larson, he never interacts in person with people from the forums that he built online.

He said he voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson in the 2016 presidential election, though he supports some of the cultural changes that President Trump has wrought.
