I'm not saying these guys aren't nimrods but how do we know anything reported by the FBI is true?

The FBI feels the same way about Doomers as they do about pink supremacists.  If we collected guns here at the Diner they would be all over our shit and any one of us could wake up tomorrow and discover we were in a plot to kill somebody.

And that would be the first time you would be hearing about it.  To keep billionaires safe the truth must be bent.

Uh-huh.

Me, I tend to trust journalists more. Some have been working this for a while.

Neo-Nazis Are Organizing Secretive Paramilitary Training Across America
The creation of a new social networking platform called “The Base” appears to be an effort to shift Naziism from a divided digital space to physical, violent insurgency.

These scum are metastasizing all across America, and wholesale loathing of the FBI suits their purposes just fine.
Off with their hands. Or heads. Either fine by me.

White Supremacist "President" Does White Supremacist Things

In case you were entertaining any doubt, these race warriors have planned their "boogaloo" for MLK Day. And fat orange is using his stubby fingers to do his best to get Uncle Fud to climb off his niece (or his nephew) and come to Richmond for the primate display behavior. Low T, low agency cosplayers compensating for their deep-seated inadequacy.

Trump Times Scare-Mongering Tweet for Maximum Impact as White Supremacists Prep for Richmond Rally

A tweet from President Donald Trump Friday, one of the sort that Speaker Nancy Pelosi might categorize as “crazy,” drew sharp criticism for seeming to fan the flames of unrest ahead of a gun-rights rally in Richmond, Virginia.

Trump’s social-media eruption warns Virginians that their 2nd Amendment rights are “under attack,” and offers a sarcastic “thank you” to Virginia Democrats who will “take your guns away.”

One of the Donald's more egregious Tweets imho, although most of them are designed to cause nothing but discord......my opinion is that Tweeting by a sitting US President should be an impeachable offense all its own....not sure why the Founding Fathers didn't address that one, A new Constitutional Amendment seems to be in order.

The situation in Virginia is very scary to me. Hopefully the marginal good sense of the legislature there can prevail. I don't support the assault weapons ban part of it for several reasons, but they abandoned that part already from what I read.

It's not smart to allow people with guns and an agenda to congregate in large numbers in public places. It's a recipe for mass killings and for the disintegration of the rule of law. The US Constitution does not guarantee that right, in my opinion, and if it does, we need another amendment to handle that.

I will say one more time....nobody has the balls to take on handguns, but that's the area that needs to be addressed. It ought to be really hard to qualify for handgun ownership,  You could handle the scary-looking assault weapons (that kill almost nobody compared to handguns btw) by merely making them illegal to carry in public, in urban spaces filled with people. Sensible gun owners could put up with that much of an infringement on their "rights". If they want to shoot them let them go to the woods or the range.

I appreciate your response As regards your assertion that "scary-looking assault weapons (that kill almost nobody compared to handguns btw)," Mr. Stephen Paddock would like a word.  Paddock opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers at a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip and killed 58 people while wounding 413. Your point goes to tonnage of corpses, though, and that is doubtless correct.

Motivated by the same contempt for decency as the Trump admin's elevation of pizza and French fries to the American dietary pantheon on Michelle Obama's birthday, replacing peas and carrots, and for the same reasons, these militarized cosplayers are descending on Richmond today, the MLK holiday. This shit is VERY close to home, and affects me directly as my daughter and her boyfriend live and work in Richmond. She said she "encountered" some of their number last night.

This exercise can go sideways in a lot of different ways, and very quickly. The point is to defy the rule of law, and via such defiance, stop the advance of an equality-under-the-law based system of governance in favor of the rule of old white slavers with guns. And brought to you by the same cowboys that brought you the great moral victory at the Bundy Ranch and at Malheur.

Now check this out:

My wife got this email from a friend who lives and works in Richmond last night, who says she got it from a friend in Texas. She said, "it made my skin crawl.
Are these people frikin INSANE?!"

Why yes, Heidi, they are. This purports to be from the founder of the Oath Keepers. Note carefully the tone of grievance and perpetual victimhood.

Urgent! Need Volunteers Monday, Jan. 20th
to Protect Patriots At Richmond Gun Rights Rally

Oath Keepers and patriots,

Volunteers needed!  We need LEO and military veterans to volunteer to help us on the ground at the ARMED rally in the streets of Richmond, VA on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 (not in Gov. Northam’s absurd disarmed slave pen – out in the streets with the hardcore patriots who will NOT be disarmed).

We put word out to our members on our Facebook page two days ago that we need to be there to do all we can to help prevent this event from going sideways.  We are still in need of men to assist.  You do NOT have to be an Oath Keepers member to help.  Just be a qualified and trained LEO or military veteran who can keep your head and is physically capable of defending others.  If you are in driving range of Richmond, VA, please come help.

To volunteer, email us at:  oathkeepersok@gmail.com.

Tell us about your service and training.  Attach a copy of your drivers license and CCW (if you have one) and your phone number.

We know many of you will be there anyway, so please consider also linking up with us and helping in this critical mission.

If you cannot make it in person to help, please donate to support those who can make it.

DONATE HERE

MISSION IS TO BE A CALMING INFLUENCE. On all sides.

1. Keep the police cool by  making it clear to them that brother officers are on the ground, mixed in with the gun rights crowd.  In our experience, after all the public events we have secured, from Bundy Ranch on, when the police know that other police are on the ground, among the patriots, it tends to prompt them to do their jobs better, and to prevent tragedies.  We will have patriot cops liaison with local and state LEOs, doing all we can to prevent a blue-on-blue or patriot on police incident.  We need as many patriot police officers here as possible for that mission.

2. Keep patriots cool, focused on expressing their views but not going violent and not trying to crash the gates into the capital grounds. That is EXACTLY what Northam wants.  Don’t give it to him!  Best outcome is a calm, peaceful mass assembly of armed Americans exercising their rights to peaceably assemble (while armed!) and petition their government for a redress of grievances.  Make Northam look like an overreacting, tyrannical ass.  Keep our cool.

3. Watch for false flags, hotheads, and agent provocateurs.  Do all we can to deter or stop them.

4. Escort vulnerable people to and from the rally. And especially after, escort elderly, disabled, or any other vulnerable individuals that the left may target for assault.

If things go sideways/kinetic then focus on protecting people and getting them to safety.

NOTE:  All that Navy SEAL veteran Matt Bracken has warned about regarding the VCDL organized Lobby Day rally in Richmond is a very real possibility.    I am in Richmond as I write this, and I can tell you that after seeing the downtown capitol grounds and nearby narrow streets surrounded by high rise buildings and multi-story, open sided parking garages, Bracken is correct about the dangers.

However, the reality is that there will still be tens of thousands of armed American patriots there on Monday, Jan 20, 2020, in those narrow streets.  It is now far too late to prevent that.  I do urge you to read Bracken’s analysis so you understand the danger.  You can read it here.    But I encourage those of you with the proper training and experience to then join us on the ground to do all we can, using our training and experience, to keep things from going FUBAR.  It may still go FUBAR despite our best efforts, but duty is ours, results are God’s, so we will be there to try to prevent or mitigate all the worst case scenarios that Bracken outlines – specifically agent provocateurs, false flags, hot-heads going kinetic, or over-reacting rally attendees and overreacting local LEOs.

For us, this comes down to a matter of duty.

The Governor or VA has only made Bracken’s forecast of a FUBAR “buffalo jump” all the more possible/likely by pushing tens of thousands of armed patriots out into the street s of Richmond instead of on the massive green of the capitol grounds.  Northam has done this by declaring an emergency and unlawfully decreeing that the capitol grounds are a “gun-free” zone and has ordered the police to set up massive fencing and metal detectors around the green, with anyone who wants to attend VCDL’s rally on Monday forced to go through metal detectors before doing so.  Predictably, and understandably, tens of thousand of American patriots will not submit themselves to being disarmed and going through an absurd metal detector and police gauntlet to just stand on some grass and listen to speakers.  They are 100% right in their refusal to do so.

Oath Keepers will NOT be entering Northam’s absurd slave pen, and we urge all other patriots to likewise refuse to disarm and go through metal detectors just to attend a “gun rights rally.”  A disarmed gun rights rally in VA is an absurdity and an abomination.  As Patrick Henry would say, “Forbid it almighty God!”  Tens of thousands of American patriots agree, and we will all be outside of Northam’s sheep pen/slave pen in the streets of Richmond, standing in defiance and protest.

But this does mean that instead of all of us standing on the green, we will now be crammed into those narrow streets, surrounded by high rise buildings and multi-story parking garages.  And all those gun owners crammed into those narrow streets just makes conflict with Antifa and other leftist agitators, provocateurs/false flag operators all the more likely and makes the plans of any nefarious actors all the easier.

Unfortunately, VCDL has chosen to ask that 10,000 gun owners disarm and go inside Northam’s sheep pen/slave pen, with the rest remaining armed out in the streets.  We disagree with this decision.  It sends entirely the wrong message.  It lets Northam and his fellow-traveler oath breaking domestic enemies of the Constitution in the VA legislature know that they CAN disarm at least some Virginians, because they already did on Jan 20, 2020.  And to have members of VCDL be the ones who willingly submit to being disarmed just to listen to some speeches sends a particularly damaging message of a willingness to comply with tyrannical edicts. We respect the past hard work of VCDL, but this is a tragic blunder.  It is not too late to change course and we sincerely hope they do.

We are still hopeful that VCDL will listen to us and to their fellow Virginian patriots who are telling them the same thing:  leave Northam’s absurd anti-constitution square empty.  Set not one patriot foot inside it.  Instead, surround it with armed patriots to mock and ridicule it.  Bring your speakers out into the streets with the armed free men.  Let them stand on a milk crate and yell into a bullhorn if that’s what it takes.  Don’t ask armed free men (Virginians!) to disarm and submit to a tyrant’s decree just to listen to some speeches.

Defiance and refusal, not compliance and submission are the proper responses.  As the founders said, resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

But, that needs to be a refusal to enter Northam’s pen.  It does NOT need to be some absurd act of storming the gates/fences and attempting to enter the capitol grounds armed.  That is precisely what Northam wants you to do.  Don’t ‘do it!  Read retired SEAL Matt Bracken’s write up again.  And then read this.  Bracken correctly states the the best course of action is to focus on the already growing resistance at the town and county level, and he urges patriots to gather THERE in defiance.  He is 100% correct.  Follow the Founding Father’s example by using local resistance, defiance, and nullification as your wisely chosen method. That resistance is already underway with all of the town and county Second Amendment Sanctuary resolutions.  build on it.  Amplify it.  And give it teeth!

PROPER RESISTANCE IS DEFIANCE IN THE TOWNS AND COUNTIES, WITH AN ORGANIZED MILITA

Now that Northam has issued his wanna-be King George tyrant’s decree, the proper response is for the patriots of Virginia to call up a muster of all able bodied men in each county, at the county seat.  Not a gun rights rally – A MUSTER.  Bring the men of the county together. Declare Northam to be a domestic enemy of the Constitution, with the evidence being his absurd “state of emergency” declaration and disarmed capitol grounds decree.  Declare him to be illegitimate.  Declare all he does, all he signs into “law” from this moment on to be illegitimate and null and void from inception, without force or effect.

And then put the senior military officers or NCO veterans present in charge of swearing all the men in as the county militia, in a mass oath swearing ceremony.  Form that militia right there on the spot, and then get those NCOs and military officers (especially the infantry veterans) busy training that militia.  Invite the sheriff to also swear them all in as his deputies to form his posse/reserve deputy auxiliary.

And then get to training! That will send a message of defiance loud and clear, and will then force Northam to eventually come to you, where you are strong and he is weak, with him as the clear aggressor, rather than you going where he is strong, in some massive disorganized gaggle, with you being seen as the perceived aggressors.  Remember Three Percenter Founder Mike Vanderboegh’s wise admonition of “no Ft. Sumters” – meaning that we need to let the bad guys be the clear aggressors. If there is to be a fight, let it be one that begins on the best of terms for us.

This is what the Founders did.  When General Gage landed in Boston and placed the city, and really all of Massachusetts, under martial law, the Founders did not call up the town militias to march on Boston. Instead. they organized, armed, and trained even more town militias and they also formed up special Minuteman Companies. They got strong in their local towns and rural counties, and they defied Gage’s decrees.  for example, he banned all town hall meetings. The patriots held town hall meetings anyway, in open defiance. They kept their patriot leaders out in the rural towns where Gage could not easily arrest them.  That’s why Gage had to send troops to Concord – that’s where patriot leaders John Hancock and Sam Adams were.  They did not stay in Boston, like sitting ducks.  And when Gage finally had to go after them, he was forced to send troops out in to the country, where he was weak and the patriots were strong.  And because the patriot leaders were protected by organized militia, Gage couldn’t send just a handful of officers on horseback (his secret police) to arrest them.  He had to send a large regular military force of infantry.

Eventually Gage was forced to go after the patriot leaders and to go after the arms of the militia.  He had no choice, because they were making a mockery against him.  He had to send troops out into the countryside to try to arrest Hancock and Adams, and to seize the guns and ammo of the patriot militia.

And not only did that make Gage the clear aggressor, it also guaranteed his defeat when those troops were overwhelmed because they had marched out into patriot held territory where they were weak and the patriots were strong.  Follow that example. Don’t listen to hot head idiots who want to scream “Wolverines!” and rush the fences on Monday, in a bid to “storm the capitol and take it back for the people!’ or some other such nonsense.  The focus of effort needs to be in the rural towns and counties, where the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement is already catching fire.  Again, this is something that Navy SEAL veteran Matt Bracken has also been saying.  Read his detailed analysis of WHY this is the proper course here.

Be wise as serpents, (or at least as wise as Hancock and Adams) and let Northam come to you where you are strong and he is weak.  Declare him illegitimate.  Declare all he does, all he signs into “law” to be illegitimate and null and void from inception, without force or effect.  And then form up, arm up, and train your militia so you are strong when Northam does come, as he will be forced to do, just as Gage was forced to eventually march his men out into the countryside.

The proper strategy today is the same.  Local resistance. Raising, organizing, arming, and training local town and county militia.  Encouraging and assisting all the patriot sheriffs to form posse or reserve deputy auxiliary.

That is what Oath Keepers will be doing after the rally.  We will be out in the rural counties, assisting in raising and training official county militia and posse.  See our call to action here, on that vital training mission.  That mission is ongoing now, and will continue into the coming weeks and months.

Please consider making a donation to support that effort, or purchasing a raffle ticket to support our work.

Together we can make Monday a safe gathering of patriots and together we can grow the local resistance so strong that Northam and the rest of the oath breakers in VA are impotent and powerless to actually violate the rights of the people in their hometowns.  And if Northam nonetheless tries, he will suffer the same fate as General Gage; he will both fail, and open the door to his own downfall.

As the Virginia flag famously made clear long ago:  Sic Semper Tyrannis!

For the Republic,

Stewart Rhodes

In case you were entertaining any doubt, these race warriors have planned their "boogaloo" for MLK Day. And fat orange is using his stubby fingers to do his best to get Uncle Fud to climb off his niece (or his nephew) and come to Richmond for the primate display behavior. Low T, low agency cosplayers compensating for their deep-seated inadequacy.

Email us at oathkeepersok@gmail.com to volunteer.

The Vegas killer was an outlier, as you know doubt already know. He is one of the hardest crazies to get a grip on, but it looks to me like he was intent on going for the record books, and he put far more planning into his act of violence than most shooters and was therefore more potent.  I put him in a different category than the typical shooter, More like Timothy McVeigh or Ted K.  We don't know what axe he had to grind, but he no doubt had one. He would probably be right at home in Richmond today.

I have put up stats here several time that clearly show that handguns kill FAR more people than assault rifles, and they do it places where assault weapons are legal and also where they are illegal. I think the Virginia proposed law to limit handguns buys to one per month is a joke.

In general, the Democratic approach to gun control in VA could be best described as modest, or even tokenism. The pushback response, on the other hand, is off-the-charts, and borders on pathological.

I am starting to view the gun nut/militia phenomenon as a  spin-off of the Permanent Wars. Live by the gun, die by the gun,

Outlier perhaps, but this performance was enough to get him into the domestic terror Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement.

Virginia gun laws are notoriously lax. Under Republican control, Virginia lawmakers successfully made the commonwealth the place that illegal gun traffickers boasted was the absolute best place for them to do business. Virginia had a law on the books for 19 years limiting gun purchases to one a month, but — despite its success in helping to curtail the illicit gun trade and an appeal from Virginia Tech families — it was repealed in 2012. Efforts to restore the limit, as well as enact other common-sense measures with popular support, such as universal background checks, were killed by a General Assembly captive to the gun lobby. Many of the Dems who won election in November ran on passing common sense gun legislation.

These heavily-strapped erectile-dysfunction poster boys are just part of the Church of Perpetual Grievance. You actually said it perfectly:

Might have been nice if these guys had gotten their AR-15s out of their asses when Congress passed the ill-named USA PATRIOT Act and torched the Fourth Amendment. But the Second is all they care about, and apparently the government can take back the rest of them.

These guys aren't from ANY privilege, imho. They are the remains of the white labor class, now largely made redundant. They  used to build things and make things (as long as somebody else hired them and trained them and paid them)  but now they're more oriented toward tearing things down. They feel betrayed and abandoned and powerless.

They buy guns as a substitute for having any real power (or meaning) in their existential lives. They are a bunch of losers, and I mean that in a very real sense.

They played high school sports, but now they just watch football on TV. Maybe a few of them deer hunt. A lot of them are cops and ex-cops and ex-military. They go to church and call themselves Christians and they tie yellow ribbons out the wazoo supporting the troops.

Yeah, I'd say most of them are racists. But I'd also say MOST PEOPLE are racist on some level. Diversity is a fake virtue that only exists on college campuses, in government buildings, and in the hearts of liberal journalists. Everyone else is biased toward their own race.

To call them privileged ignores the fact that there ARE plenty of privlieged white people...and a smaller but significant number of privileged black and brown people. But (to me anyway) it isn't these guys. Being an assistant manager at Kroger's and struggling to pay rent or a mortgage and a car payment is not privilege.

Definitely more part of the problem than they are any solution.

We've argued about this before, and I am frustrated because I can't seem to get my point across. Even though we agree on most of this.
In the colonial West Indies, the English owner class used slavery system that developed as an outgrowth of the demand for sugar and other crops. The Spanish had found that the resident natives were't useful labor; imprisoned, they withered up and died. So, as we all know, they imported Africans to keep the British upper crust in luxury goods like sugar, tobacco, and coffee. All produced using slave labor.

Many Irish were also imported in Barbados and Jamaica as indentured services. their lives as bondsmen were also pretty awful, similar to the blacks, with the marked exception that the indenture eventually ended, whereas the African slaver remained a slave until death, un less he was freed. May freed Irish became overseers of slaves. With the message being, "No matter hw low you may be in my eyes, and you are, you are still not as bad off as THEM."

That's what I mean by white privilege being structural.

To my point above, theirs is there "privilege" of the Irish overseer. At least they aren't black. I disagree with you about "diversity." I learned as a grade school kid about the so-called "melting pot," and that's why e pluribus unum. Of course this was the 50s. I think you see this much more in urban areas where people are more obliged to share space.

Anybody dead yet in Richmond? If nobody dies, it'll be a miracle.

I'm writing at 5:38 EST, and I can 't see that anyone was killed. One arrest, of a woman who had her face covered with a bandanna. Police said she was arrested after she continued to wear it after an officer warned her twice to uncover her face. Numerous armed rally attendees were also seen covering their faces without being confronted by police. But they were men.

White men.

Marching around with guns on your chest? That’s all about fear.

Marching around with guns on your chest? That’s all about fear.

Scores of men — plus a handful of women — dressed up in battle rattle and draped themselves with assault weapons, long guns and handguns on Monday. They strapped hunting knives to their thighs and wore body armor and body cameras on their chests, shoulders and helmets.

To a rally. A peaceful rally. On city streets in a quiet state capital on a holiday weekend.

That’s a uniform of fear, right there.

Fear of having to pass a background check if they want to buy a gun from a private individual?

Fear of not being able to buy more than one handgun every month?

Thousands of gun rights supporters traveled to Richmond on Jan. 20 for a rally to oppose gun-control proposals. (Meg Kelly/The Washington Post)

Fear of not being able to carry an AR-15 across your chest to a county fair that doesn’t want your weapon aboard the Tilt-a-Whirl?

Fear of getting help taking a gun away from your suicidal son?

Because those are all the restrictions on guns that the Virginia House of Delegates passed last week.

The outsized turnout, vigor and rancor in Richmond on Monday — thousands of demonstrators filled the Capitol grounds and surrounding streets — is a reaction based on fear, not fact.

And the fear is all about a loss of power.

“It happened like that,” a man dressed in full camo with a handgun strapped to his hip told his friend, snapping his finger. “We were good for years, then the left took over and they’re going to take our guns away. Virginia is the home of the NRA. They want to run them out, too.”

Be honest, people. Most law-abiding, regular old Virginians could still have a weapon — many weapons, even — under the common-sense legislation that the new Democratic majority in Richmond is passing.

The annual rally supporting unregulated gun ownership in Virginia was huge this year, whipped up by a tweet from President Trump warning: “Your 2nd Amendment is under very serious attack in the Great Commonwealth of Virginia. That’s what happens when you vote for Democrats, they will take your guns away..”

Besides thousands of people who went through security to adhere to the emergency order banning weapons on Capitol grounds, thousands more who decided they couldn’t be without their weapons encircled the Capitol.

Huge assault weapons strapped across chests and backs knocked against each other in the port-a-potty lines. Some walked in a masked phalanx, bookended by German shepherds.

One group pushed through crowds in a conga line of camo and Carhartt, holding on to each other as they muscled through a crush of people. “Racist, white supremacists coming through,” one line leader bellowed, laughing, like everyone should know he really isn’t racist.

The fears that the demonstration would turn into another Charlottesville were also unfounded. Last week, the FBI arrested three men suspected of being members of a neo-Nazi hate group who stockpiled weapons and allegedly discussed sparking a race war at the Richmond rally.

Counterprotesters were urged by their leaders to avoid the rally. The Moms (who) Demand Action — the group that worked hard to help flip the state’s legislature from red to blue — didn’t show up with their shirts and signs. The families of people killed in massacres avoided the scene. The rowdies who like to clash with everyone Netflixed and chilled.

That helped keep the peace.

But it also meant there were no counterprotesters there to explain that requiring safety checks that still make owning a gun easier than driving a car are not a wholesale assault on the Second Amendment.

Billy Byrd, 55, said he doesn’t really mind the background check. He’s a retired police officer who lives in Williamsburg. But he said he wants to have weapons to protect his family.

“I called the cops the other day and it took them 30 minutes to get there,” Byrd said. “In 30 minutes my whole family could’ve been killed.”

Did he call police because someone was trying to kill his whole family?

“No, someone was there taking pictures of the inside of my son’s car,” he said. “The VIN number.”

Tim (who feared giving me his last name) is a 47-year-old IT guy from North Carolina who owns “more [weapons] than I’m comfortable telling you.” He also didn’t really have a problem with the idea of background checks. But it’s the principle of any kind of legislation or regulation he opposes. And fears.

“Criminals will have guns,” he said.

All of the men I talked to were also solidly opposed to “red-flag laws,” which allow a concerned family member or the police to ask for the temporary removal of weapons from someone who may be dangerous to themselves or others.

“I can just tell the cops that a guy I hate is dangerous, and they’ll go take all his guns. It can happen to me,” one guy told me.

Nope. That may be what he fears. But the red-flag law requires a state court to be petitioned and a judge to weigh in on whether taking the gun is appropriate.

Let me spell it out: The people who lobby for red-flag laws are usually those who lost a loved one to suicide.

Thirty percent of gun deaths in Virginia, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, are homicides.

A much larger percentage — 67 percent of all gun deaths in the state — are suicides.

The suicide-by-gun rate — about two a day in Virginia — takes primarily rural, white males over the age of 45, according to numbers compiled by America’s Health Rankings. And veterans are 1.5 times as likely to take their lives in Virginia.

That almost perfectly describes the demographic at the gun rally in Richmond.

Think about it, guys. The biggest thing you have to fear, when it comes to guns, is yourselves, actually.

It would be pretty brave to talk about that.
