Is a Grand Solar Minimum Something We Should Worry About?

Is a Grand Solar Minimum Something We Should Worry About? Is Another ďLittle Ice AgeĒ Approaching?

You may have recently heard the term grand solar minimum and Maunder minimum bandied around by the media lately, but what the heck are they talking about? And should we be worried about another Little Ice Age approaching?

Well, there are two types of solar minimum. One of them ordinarily happens about every eleven years. In the simplest terms, a solar minimum phase is a period of time in which the sunís activity is reduced to its lowest level and there are very few sunspots.

The sun is incredibly active. Most of the time, anyway.

I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind

Sorry, wrong link....
Correct answer is No. (I do like Ace Ventura's answer though!)
Solar minimum may cool planet by under half a degree. We are already 1.5 hotter than pre-industrial average, probably heading to 4 or 5 degrees in the next 20 years. Observations show its getting hotter and dryer here, with longer dry spells and heavier rainfall when it does come. (I am in South Eastern Australia).
If its natural, nothing we can do about it. If its man made, (Which is what the data suggests), I am too cynical to believe we will do anything about it, as too many people are making money from the status quo.

Grand Solar Minimum may actually give us more time!
