How about you Phil? Where do you stand on protesting? Are you always 100% peaceful, or do you like to throw the odd brick from time to time?

Because it matters.

It's not the size of the Brick that matters.  It's how many you throw and what you throw them at.

If you call yourself a BLM "protester" and you throw bricks, then you are most definitely NOT a protester. You are a combatant against the police.

Good luck with that shit. Only idiots fight armed cops and soldiers with bricks. If you happen to be one of those idiots, you aren't entitled to call yourself a peaceful protester.

I meant the "you" in a more general sense.....not you personally. I was interested in whether Phil, who is a BLM activist, is dedicated to non-violence, or whether he thinks violence or property destruction is justified in some circumstances......and which circumstances those might be.

White supremacists used BLM protesters as a shield to destroy the infrastructure of our community. It looks like Dresden after the bombing in some places.  Grass-roots nonprofits, grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, post office and more turned to rubble. As neighbors, we gave succor to protestors but also had to control our own streets so the Bugaloos and Base didn't firebomb our homes.

I watched every fucking video of property damage I could find on YouTube from the George Floyd protests, and I saw exactly one I thought might have been a right-winger.

I saw many more that looked to be young black and anglo anti-capitalist monkeywrenchers striking a blow against the corporates. So I think you saw what you wanted to see.

I want to see your proof....and before you post it, I am willing to accept that the guy in Minneapolis who torched the auto parts store probably was a cop. That's the ONE I saw.

The other case (not on YT)  I'm aware of is the CA case where the Bugaloo guy killed two Oakland cops.

It's easy to CLAIM all the damage was done by white supremacists.....but I don't buy it. I'd say the other side did MUCH more property damage....especially if you include statues and monuments......which I don't care about, but it's still vandalism.

Monkeywrenchers  and BLMer's can destroy statues and nobody bats an eye, but when a couple of black women tried to paint over Di Blasio's giant Black Lives Matter pavement sign IN NYC, they got thrown in jail.  What a fucking crock.

Look, Trump sending Feds to Portland is not something I support. But I would like to remind you commies that the "peaceful protest" around the Federal Courthouse in Portland  wasn't completely peaceful.....and it has been going on for nearly two months.....and it was unlikely to ever end well.

And I don't think you can blame Portland on white supremacists.....the problem with Portland is that the city officials there have been kissing Antifa ass for so long the fuckers  think they own the city. Maybe they do.

I'm sorry for the guy who got injured. I don't like militarized cops, and I don't support the use of pepper spray and tear gas and rubber bullets on peaceful protesters no matter who they are.

How do these people pass the screening?

You even BEEN to Arkansas? Obviously not.

How about you Phil? Where do you stand on protesting? Are you always 100% peaceful, or do you like to throw the odd brick from time to time?

No never did lay in no Arkansaw grass ( triple negative still negative I hope), it's too far from Philadelphia

My brother in law filled his backpack with rocks because he and his classmates wanted to fill their backpacks with books and finish the  study they already paid for, so rioted at the University. If that seems not entirely unreasonable, it's because there isn't a long tradition of tyranny over stem students and an ever present fear of an engineering school uprising in society.

BLM would say oppressors don't get to determine acceptable forms of protest. Violence certainly gets covered on the news, otherwise protest may have the impact of a tree falling in the forest and are still met with excess force that the news does not report. Unfortunately, it's just a feature of collapse that there will be uprisings and they will be met with force, ask the French yellow vests. Obviously I prefer that does not happen.

I finished the Sam Harris podcast on BLM, it didn't reveal anything I hadn't already thought of, but failed to consider resentment for historical injustice as a contributor at all. It's really a matter of emphasis on various points he makes that will determine where your sympathy or loyalty falls. Sure enough I later saw selected short segments of the longer podcast posted as 'the war on sjw's'.

I wonder if some New Yorkers in F troop uniforms wanted to arrest you, or Germans in Hogans Heroes uniforms wanted to arrest him, whether just one generations injustices would cloud your perceptions less sanguine. Imagine having centuries of historical memory triggered by an officer acting like an old time overseer.

I recommend another podcast of a debate Harris has with one Ezra Klein around race and IQ, here:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=i-VF4KCylKI

He mentions there he is also half Ashkenazi jewish and has a PhD in neuroscience. He therefore should know better than what he seems to insinuate and defend, but if podcasting pays better than practising these days, give the patrons what they came for I guess.

For essentially arguing as a eugenecist, he plays the victim and harps over and over on how unfair criticism of himself for doing so is. He spends the rest of the two hours refusing to recognise the distinction between sympathizing with historical horrors on one hand and also recognising it as an environmental impact lowering IQ on the other. Klein who is only a journalist tried to make the point many times that it is historical environmental factors responsible, Harris says repeatedly that he agrees in that he is sympathetic to black Americans oppression and poverty, but never saying that these factors cause or even contribute to the lower average IQ. I say he is being deliberately dense because there's a market in satisfying white supremacy that holds the black brain to be inherently inferior.

His justification for highlighting group differences is supposedly because avoiding the topic is avoiding the data. Data that will jump out and scream at us eventually and are necessary to structure society, so don't shoot the messenger even if it's straight eugenics.

That's a straw man because nobody denies there are group differences, but the consensus is that it is due to environment and there are bigger differences within than between groups anyway. This is science, not political correctness as he suggests.

He doesn't say there are average IQ sex differences that need a discussion because the data are not going to go away, even though you CAN point to physical differences in brain size and structure. He doesn't say we need to highlight apparent group advantage in physical coordination, even though you CAN again point to a biological basis in higher distribution of large cerebellum in some races.

He doesn't look at white Catholics closing a 1SD gap after becoming fully accepted as white, showing group average is anything but fixed.

No mention of urban v rural gap. No mention of twins raised in poverty or luxury up to 2SD gap. And one few people in the field know, right v left wing gap.

He doesn't look at the East Asian 10 point advantage and it's association with the longest uninterrupted civilization and culture we have, including Confucian meritocracy through exams. He doesn't consider familiarity with test taking, confidence and motivation in testing. He doesn't look at the apparent impact of civilization collapses at all. That, coincidentally is succour to white supremacists to whom it never occurs that at various times the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Aztecs, or Incas would have had the most complex computations and mental representations to manipulate, before falling behind as we are now.

So while you are genuinely wrestling with the issue on racism, I think Sam Harris has deliberately gone for being an alt-right darling and done nothing to redeem himself.

Naked Athena

Portland heats up.

In Seattle we have just had a wave of Agent Provocateur violence.  Smash and dash.  Head to toe dressed in black they smashed up things and then disappeared.  Starbucks was a target and I took Mrs. Dog through a local drive through yesterday and the order screen was smashed up.  She likes her foo-foo drinks.

A fancy downtown Starbucks was trashed and My son watched the men in black regroup with military precision after they did the deed.  Just before he went by the smashed up Starbucks.  He took pictures before the plywood went up.

What is going on is obvious to me.  I wish other people had a clue.  The Orange man knows you won't be thinking about his COVID failure when he saves your ass from 'lefty anarchists'.

If this bullshit flys America will deserve all the tyranny it gets.

Moving On

There are days when rolling your own blog is worth doing and today is a day like that. Last week also had a day like that when I hosted my own video (extracted from a tweet I was shown) and sidestepped You Tube censors. That felt good, very good. If I did not have my own blog as a place to post my heart would have felt chilled. I'd be unable to express myself. No options. I would have been silenced and I know what being silenced feels like. The humiliation of being silenced without options is hard to take. I have been silenced before which is how I became aware of special attention for the first time.

Is K-Dog Experienced? If it involves needles, no. But If I ever meet Edward Snowden I'd ask him how many of us were getting the kind of special attention I was getting when he absquatulated. He would know.

Since then, I've posted an original Standing Rock video because I know someone who was there. My K-Dog for president KDFP escapade is not going unnoticed I'm sure. So I was not surprised that Homeland Security You Tube censors eliminated the video in my sidebar before I could even link to it. Less than two minutes. Thankfully HTML 5 makes embedding your own videos very easy. If you have access to a place where you can post some HTML that is. As I do.

I am aware I have personal attention. Everything I do is closely watched, but I am not writing to grind that ax. Things are happening that are a lot bigger than I am. The nation is being ripped apart and the ripple effects of executive mismanagement by Donald Trump are everywhere. People are turning on each other. Anger at the leader of the American Empire can't be meaningfully expressed and this is leading to that anger being 'acted out' in different ways. The anger is feeding on itself and growing.

I don't like gore and the video I have posted in my sidebar is hard to watch. A sanitized version was played by major main-stream media and my video is the part at the end which was cut from the publicly shown version. The American government would like people to think less-lethal munitions are less lethal and the video I show gives perspective which suggests otherwise. I wish the violence had never happened and the video did not need to be shown but it happened and it does. The video needs to be shown.

Americans spend most of their waking hours lost in one fantasy or another. They have trouble appreciating reality and their fantasies tend to become more real than reality itself. The video in my sidebar helps to provide a lacking perspective. It is a frightening to know that Americans believe themselves to be well-informed, educated, and immune from propaganda. That belief is a lot easier to deal with than reality and we all like easy. Dealing with the truth would be a lot of work. America lives in a soup of propaganda and most people don't, I am sad to say, know propaganda for what it is.

For years, I have been active on the internet posting comments under articles and engaging in dialog with all sorts of people. This began with my interest in 'peak oil' which I became interested in on my own at an early age and long before the birth of the internet. An author widely read years ago among peak-oil people was James Howard Kunstler who wrote the 'Long Emergency' which describes that the end of oil will bring a storm of converging catastrophes into America's future. Jims' ability to write made him one of the minor gurus in the Peak Oil Movement and Jim has a blog called Clusterfuck Nation. I became a frequent commenter at Jims' blog and was for over ten years. Yesterday I decided I would not be commenting there in the future. Too long have I ignored James Howard Kunstlers' right wing conservatism and his insensitivity to other people.

Whenever you cease an activity you are able to make observations which you had been previously suppressing. I am a better man than most of the filth Jim allows to inhabit his blog. That is a truth and I need to own it. I can admit this now because an important and well-thought-out comment which I wrote was censored by Jim yesterday. I don't take it as a personal affront. Someone who has their own blog does not have to explain what they do with their own property. They can do what they want. All they need to do is live with the consequences.

So through the years it comes down to the guttural expressions of right wing tyranny allowed at Clusterfuck Nation is what James Howard Kunstler is really all about. He is not interested in contrary points of view or the notion that the world could be a better place even on the way down. So I am gone. JHK is now a full-metal Trump supporter who wants the protest in America shut down. He considers the protest, unlike I, to have no rational basis at all. He considers no middle ground. Donald Trump is going Qasem Soleimani on Americans and we can't abide this. Fortunately the readership of Clusterfuck Nation is small and its role to the American government is primarily one of a Honey Trap (caught me it did) and it is not an organ of influence.

I did not like Mayor Ted Wheeler who had been tear-gassed by Trump troops being disparaged by JHK. I don't like a duly-elected mayor being tear-gassed by federal troops without there being profuse apologies no matter who they are. So I'm done with the curmudgeon. I don't want to be one and I'll be spending more time here.

I did go back and link to my explanation from Clusterfuck Nation and this video had been posted about me a few minutes before.  I like it.

I was only there to link my explanation which I had promised one of my few allies there.

I posted the content into a draft and remembered not to publish it but to just save the draft.  A few paragraphs are added at the end.  All it needs is pictures, have at it.

* At my blog mousing over Jimmy causes him to switch into an animated gif.  That does not happen here but most people at my blog don't know that happens.  Only those who drift their mouse over Jimmy so it is no big deal.

I'll have a look.  You can continue to add to it or edit until Wed or so, I won't publish before then.

I went back and added a direct link to the video I have to host myself but that is the only change.  If I were you I'd get it ready to go and then post it when you want.  Things are moving so fast I won't be updating the article here or at my blog.  I will be writing a new Article before I change what I have now.

I have to find out what is going on.  Hurricane, militias on the East Coast somewhere and BJ was at the action last night so I'll be having exclusive info from him soon.  That by itself means what you see now is in the can.
