Mars Colony Seeks Astronauts
« on: April 23, 2013, 06:07:28 PM »
Hey, all you young diners, here is a way to GTFOD.

A private project called Mars One is seeking astronauts to live in a colony (pictured in illustration) on the Red Planet beginning in 2023, ten years from now. Candidates can apply online on the Mars One site, and those chosen will go through seven years of testing and training before leaving on the one-way flight. A reality TV show is planned to raise funding and show the selection and training process. More at Space.com.   :icon_study:

Sweet. RE needs to sign up for the reality TV show ASAP. Every time he's on camera, he can talk about how great hydroponics are and that with hydroponics, Mars could easily support a population of 2 billion humans. He could also become know for sharing his Alaska stories, "I remember when I lived in Alaska, back on planet Earth, we used to . . .
a.salmon fish with our bare hands."
   b. ride moose for fun."
   c. [insert other RE Alaska story] "

Land is pretty darn cheap on Mars... transportation, on the other hand....

Mars One is claiming they can send 4 people every 2 years for $6 billion a mission...

We shall see...
Making pigs fly is easy... that is, of course, after you have built the catapult....
