Hate to be a downer but

http://www.doomsteaddiner.net/forum/index.php?topic=4708.msg114308;topicseen#msg114308

is messed up on my machine.  So following the thread over there:

The jungle is also the name of an overgrown slope of a hill very close to downtown Seattle where indigent homeless have lived and died for years.  Most heroin addicts in Seattle I imagine know how to get there.  Murders have happend there this year.

Our ever moving publicly viewable homeless camp is now on a vacant lot across the I-5 freeway and Airport way.  I caught a glimpse of about twenty of its tents this morning looking straight down westbound from I-90 after crossing over I-5.  I was about seventy feet up I'd guess, and it was only  a glimpse as I was experiencing the last quarter mile of freeway before I-90 hits ocean and pours traffic onto avenues running north and south.  Our Jungle is a tenth of a mile from the current publicly viewable homeless camp location.   The camp is next to Airport way.

From the camp  across Airport Way and up underneath I-5 and including a steep hill of tangled green which runs along an embankment is our Jungle.  A a hundred feet higher over the Jungle is the Old Marine Hospital (now an Amazon building) and the rest of Beacon Hill.  I have never been to the jungle but I have been a tenth of a mile away a hundred times at least.  Here is a view underneath I-5.

Donald Slyter, a resident of The Jungle, a homeless encampment in Seattle believed to have been around since the 1930s. It gets its name from the name for homeless encampments at the time -- hobo jungles.

Another view.

America, doncha love it!

It could almost make a guy vote for Trump.

GO GOLDEN OLDIE    GO GOLDEN OLDIE!    GO GOLDEN OLDIE!  GOLDEN OLDIES  GOLDEN OLDIES  GOLDEN HITS  GOLDEN OLDIE

Hello Honey, it's me
What did you think when you heard me back on the radio?
What did the kids say when they knew it was their long lost daddy-o?
Remember how we listened to the radio
And I said "That's the place to be"
And how I got the job as an FM Jock the day you married me?
It was two kids and I was was into AM rock
But I just had to run around
It's been ages since I left you babe
Let me tell you 'bout what's gone down

I am the morning DJ at W*O*L*D
Playing all the hits for you wherever you may be
The bright good-morning voice who's heard but never seen
Feeling all of forty-five going on fifteen

The drinking I did on my last big gig, it made my voice go low
They said that they liked the young sound when they let me go
So I drifted on down to Tulsa, Oklahoma to do me a late night talk show
Now I worked my way down home again, here to Boise, Idaho
That's how this business goes

I am the morning DJ at W*O*L*D
Playing all the hits for you wherever you may be
The bright good-morning voice who's heard but never seen
Feeling all of forty-five going on fifteen

I been making extra money doing high school sock hops
I'm a big time guest MC
You should hear me talking to the little children
And listen what they say to me
Got a spot on the top of my head, just begging for a new toupee
And a tire around my gut from sitting on my butt
But it's never gonna go away

Sometimes I get this crazy dream
That I just take off in my car
But you can travel on ten thousand miles and still stay where you are
I've been thinking that I should stop disk jockeying
And start that record store
Maybe I could settle down if you'd take me back once more

OK Honey, I see
I guess he's better than me
Sure, Girl, I understand
You don't have to worry; I'm such a happy man

W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D*

I am the morning DJ at W*O*L*D
Playing all the hits for you, playing 'em night and day
The bright good morning voice who's heard but never seen
Feeling all of forty-five, going on fifteen
I am the morning DJ at W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D, W*O*L*D

Yes, It certainly was RE. One of the classics that seems to get a bit lost with the passage of time.

How I remember the Disc Jockey Era. It was a wonderful time, often we would drive around in circles as teenagers in a shit box with the old AM blasting. Arnie "WO WO" Ginsberg was the big DJ around Boston at the time. I can remember like it was yesterday sitting in our car at Adventure Car Hop, and listening to "WO WO" Ginsberg and the NIGHT TRAIN SHOW.

Those were the days. Where did the time go.

Yes, He was considered Big Shitty nationwide to my group, rather than a local brand.

Murray the K and Cousin Brucie were the "Big Shots" in NY Radio back then.  Because NY Shitty was a major market though, they had nationwide attention.

I get Cousin Brucie on Sirius in my car on the 60's channel. Pleasant sort of gent, never realized he was a Big Time DJ. Thought he was a Sirius creation. Fun to listen to him, nice people.

The Wolfman worked the nightshift outta' Tijuana .... MEXICAN RADIO !
You pick him up in So.Cal. after sunset on the A.M. band.
Then he got corprotized, homogenized & regulated.
Worked in L.A. radio & then became syndicated.
Met him once when I was a kid. Cool guy.
He was doing a promo for something at a Mickey D's.
I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind
