Discuss at the Podcast Table inside the Diner

In this Podcast, we discuss Intentional Communities, Transitional Towns and Sustainability ideas with Albert Bates, one of the original members of The Farm in Tennessee, one of the successful Back to the Land Communities which developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

http://www.sitemason.com/files/fb9yz6/bus2.jpgThe Farm still exists, has morphed over the years from its early beginnings,  but still presents a powerful Model upon which to make transition to the post-Fossil Fuel energy future that Homo Sapiens faces as we move forward into the future.  What are the issues such communities face in their development?  How do taxes, building permits and need for MONEY impact on creating such intentional communities?  What sort of WORK do you need to do as you build such a community?

http://besurvival.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/fire-piston.jpgThe problems we face now are in many ways different from those faced by The Farm Founders in the 70s, but there are many similarities as well.  What can we LEARN from The Farm, and how can we take those lessons to create a Better Tomorrow for ourselves?  What SKILL sets do people need to develop, particularly younger members of our society?

These and many other questions are discussed in our Podcasts with Albert.  Relax in front of the Laptop, light up your Plant of Choice with your Fire Piston, and figure out with us strategies for preparing for the future.

Part II of the Podcast with Albert up next Saturday on the Doomstead Diner.
