When check?

You might have seen that the original small business stimulus money already ran out for the payroll loans. Interesting since we applied the instant they started taking apps...and Wells Fargo just sent us the real (full) app yesterday too.

Meanwhile Ruth's Chris Steakhouse gets 20 million.

The distribution appears to be slightly uneven. Must be a lack of helicopters in my area. That's all I can think.

Dear Mr. Eddie,

We thank you for your letter inquiring about helicopter drops in your area.  Unfortunately, helicopters are being reserved for large drops to bigger companies.  For your company, we will be using our new and improved toy drones, which will be operational just as soon as we can figure out the battery question -- Duracell or Everready.

We do hope there will not be much wind in your area on Drop Day, as our toy drones don't do very well in wind.

Sincerely,

No helicopters missing.  You were never supposed to get the money.

Yup. Smokescreen.....however one of my ex-con patients told me he got the po' folks $1200. Glad somebody is collecting something.

But not the hedgies.  Why can't they just go short like everybody else, and make a ton of money? Hell. I shoulda gone short.

So...I just heard a local small employer on the radio. He was explaining that his employees can't collect unemployment if he takes the payroll bailout loan and passes it on to them (which is a requirement for getting the money).

So he goes in debt (for whatever portion of the loan is not forgiven, which is not clear to me) to pay his people....and they actually get LESS than they would get on unemployment.....since he has no work for them and so their (hourly based) paychecks would be fairly minimal too.

This applies to me and my workers too. It's sort of a Catch-22.
