Arizona is taking poor-shaming to a whole new level that has nothing to do with "personal responsibility."

Cue the bleating from the crypto-fascists.

Surly,
This is spot on 1000 % correct-a-mundo.
When I moved here from Cali. 25 years ago & found out there's no
union protection & Az is a right-to-work state, I said "Ok. I'll give it whirl".
I found out later it was the best decision I ever made to leave the land
of granola & start fresh. Az promotes self reliance BIG TIME. Have I had some
bumps in the road ? YEP-PER ....
But in the long run it's been worth it.

Someone able to beat the booze and stick to the 12 steps having that self reliant attitude doesnt surprise me. But that policy will make it tough on a lot of others, and might make them leave.

I'll show them the way to Cali......
Living in the 5th largest county (land mass wise) in the U.S. & having 350k useless eaters here
already, there's already to many folks here. Throw in the blue haired maple leafers in the winter
& eye-yi-yi we have traffic at rush hour. I count my blessings every day.
I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind

To keep perspective on things these days, ya' gotta' be 3 degrees off center.
Welcome to my world.
Glad you gents tolerate me.
The 2+ wifeys (it's a long story) couldn't even do that.
See ya'll on the flip side  :icon_sunny:

I did not post the cartoon that the mighty arbiter of Political Correctness,FacePalm, expunged from the page of political cartoonist Ben Garrison, a self-described libertarian artist who lives in Montana and spends most of his energy trying to end the Fed.

However, it does reflect my take on things, and the blog entry that goes with the cartoon makes the same points I was trying to make.

Our argument (yours and mine) makes me see the real difficulty in calling any minority out on their bullshit, no matter how ridiculous they might act. There are some sacred cows that need to be kicked, but if you kick them you just stir up a hornet's nest.

Lots of tweets from Mizzou over the weekend, complaining that the Paris Massacre is causing their noble efforts at social justice to pass out of the news spotlight. Poor things.

I'm done with this topic. We're beating a dead horse.

It's always best to start with a clean sheet of paper each day.

I will have the closing comment then.

The comment above was a joke if it wasnt clear. You DID indeed post the crybullies cartoon but i think you are being hypersensitive yourself. You posted a plain white space inside a brown border  called a safe space and are offended when i describe it as a white only safe space. Cartoons are meant to make u laugh, so why so serious. Yes a lot of the antics of the protesters are irrational and childish, screaming and using the ridiculous language of academia now , I acknowledged that. Looking past the much ado, is it much ado about NOTHING? Im not sure all their demands are justified, maybe not. but your objections and resentments here have centred on the money and boil down to that if you cant fully eliminate racism it is a waste of money to try and reduce it and essentially cotton pickers can not be costing plantations profits.  Defending exercising your right not to talk to, sit next to,  work with, admit entry or serve blacks is defending segregation. Segregation was a transition out of second class human status and slavery, but can just as easily be a transition back into it, that could be why some of them (teenagers who are neurologically still self centred)  think their cause is just as important as a massacre.
