New New Yorker cover:

“It’s difficult to effectively parody the man,” [designer Carter] Goodrich wrote of Trump.

“Everything about him is low hanging fruit. He’s already a walking, talking cartoon of himself.”

Bannon is a turd and he scares me, but he actually came out for taxing the real rich, which was probably part of what got him invited to leave the West Wing.

You are correct. If you read Jane Mayer's article about Mike Pence in there New Yorker, it's pretty clear that when they put Mike Pence in charge of the transition, we got a Koch Bros. government. Chris Christie had actually put together a bunch of dossiers that Pence immediately threw away.

As bad as Trump is, Pence is worse. A real Christopath.

Jane Mayer...I caught an interview on NPR or maybe she was on Fresh Air.....for someone who supposedly has deep background and wrote Dark Money and all that, she sure seemed  slow on the uptake.

It was obvious to me that we were getting a cabinet hand-picked by the Kochs within the first week of the transition, and I said so here. And when Trump started talking about Clean Coal? Where did a dumbass like Trump learn that term?

They switched to Trump because he was willing to accept Pence, who is the real annointed one. The Kochs hope Trump crashes and burns so their guy can take the helm.

Christopath...I like that.

You might try Jeremy Scahill's interview with Mayer here:
https://theintercept.com/2017/10/25/intercepted-podcast-mike-pence-is-the-koch-brothers-manchurian-candidate/

Scroll or forward past the NPR-style fundraising appeal, and stay or don't for the Niger discussion. Imperium redux. Interview with Jane Mayer starts @ 15:10.

The original article in the New Yorker was a gripping read, as well. Mayer interviewed his mother, his family, did everything but pick through his underwear. Spoiler: it's worse than you think.
