I'm trying to get through the last three pages of these comics, but I had to stop to comment on this one.  Just to say....that's a damn fine point.

good one  I had someone tell me the other day STRAIGHTFACED that "western civilization leaves behind democracy in countries that previously had dictatorships and savagery". I could have gone through american indians, amazon indians australian aborigines, afghanistan, iraq, all of africa, vietnam and the rest of french indochina, jailing poisoning or beating of opposition leaders, power vacuums, etc. I thought twice and decided to just say that we dont even have democracy ourselves.
