"Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it."

Arizona is taking poor-shaming to a whole new level that has nothing to do with "personal responsibility."

Cue the bleating from the crypto-fascists.

Surly,
This is spot on 1000 % correct-a-mundo.
When I moved here from Cali. 25 years ago & found out there's no
union protection & Az is a right-to-work state, I said "Ok. I'll give it whirl".
I found out later it was the best decision I ever made to leave the land
of granola & start fresh. Az promotes self reliance BIG TIME. Have I had some
bumps in the road ? YEP-PER ....
But in the long run it's been worth it.
I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind

Someone able to beat the booze and stick to the 12 steps having that self reliant attitude doesnt surprise me. But that policy will make it tough on a lot of others, and might make them leave.

Agreed Unc, was thinking the same thing myself when reading it.

AZ sure is a special unique kind of person. His planetary stuff make no sense to me, but I'm glad he found the Diner. He can put out a real interesting top notch posting now and then, and has a great sense of humor.

Almost forgot, He's a Gold Bug as well. That's all you have to really know about him, and what makes him so self reliant as you say Unc.  :exp-grin:
