Gotta love these advisories. I had to look up this thread, and when I clicked to reply, I got one of these:

Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.Thank you. Yes I'm sure. I just had to post these two. They are both Samsons. I mentioned John Samson at least once before. He was a cruising visionary who influenced many people to "sell of and sail away" a generation ago.
https://sites.google.com/site/johnsamsonmemorium/Home/samson-marine-and-cruising He built some great ferrocement boats that are still afloat and sailing, but lots of amateurs built boats using his plans, some of which are long gone and some of which are still around but aren't necessarily seaworthy.
Both of these boats look really nice. the old one looks well-maintained, and the other one is almost new, considering the hull, built many years ago, was only finished and finally launched in 2012. The newer one, although pricier, is still a bargain. You couldn't build this boat for double the money, even if you really knew what you were doing and could personally do the five thousand man hours of labor it likely took to finish.
I found this one on the Seattle CL:

I love the name --- Endless Summer. One of my favorite movies.
Lots of pics. The price has been dropped to 55K. It's got 55K worth of parts you could salvage. If the hull and deck are both good (and they probably are) this is a bargain-basement price. It's in Baja.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/d/large-sailboat/6287777294.htmlThe other Samson is for sale for a little over 90K. But it looks almost new. It's only been in the water for 5 years, although the hull was built long ago. This boat looks very professionally rigged, and ready to sail around the world. This boat is somebody's broken dream. Whoever built this boat probably died unexpectedly. Nobody sells a boat like this unless they have to. This one is just South of L.A.

More pics.
