Something Strange in the Stats
« Reply #75 on: April 19, 2015, 06:38:26 PM »
We have a very steady and regular amount of page hits, 2500-3500/day.

However, in the last 2 days, page hits dropped to half that.  This is from Google Analytics.

At the SAME TIME on Revolver, whole CONTINENTS dropped off the map of stat collection.  South America, Africa, no stats.

This is not Diner, it's general, I looked at stats for other websites too.

Something is happening here.

It's not just the Krauts.  The Dutch have a bot scouring the Diner all the time.   :icon_scratch:

From what I can determine so far based on observation of the stats over the last couple of days, we have been CUT OFF from just about all the Eurotrash Diners other than the Kraut and Dutch Boy Bots.  Occassional hits from the UK and sporadic hits from other countries, but nowhere near the norm.

Similar with South America and Africa.

Something is definitely going on here.

Roughly 3 days ago, Europe LITERALLY dropped off the Diner Map.  On the right is a map of Visits from Eurotrashland we had through the first couple of weeks of April.
Diner Map Europe
Diner Map Europe

As you can see, there are hundreds of Diner Dots, and many of those Dots represent multiple visits from a 39 sq-km radius.  Just from the Frogs, Krauts and Ities we had a couple of thousand visits in 2 weeks.  To get there, you need to be hitting on the pages at least 100 times a day.

All of a SUDDEN though, about 3 days ago just about all traffic from Eurotrashland came to a screaching HALT.  I know this because I am online these days nearly 24/7, and have my stats pages open all the time.  The Diner Dots just about never flash in Europe now, though they still flash in North America and Oz and NZ.

Simultaneous with this on the Revolver stats, the Google Analytics stats took a NOSEDIVE.  So this isn't a Revolver problem.

What happened here?  I can't imagine that all of a sudden all the Diners sprinkled around Europe decided simultaneously to stop visiting the Diner.  That makes no statistical sense whatsoever.

The only explanation I can come up with is that the Diner is being Filtered and censored in the European market.  Why that would be so I have no idea.

If there are any Eurotrash reading the Forum here, if you would check in at least as a Guest to let us know if the Diner is visible to you, I would appreciate it.

I do believe the time is drawing nearer where the Diner will no longer be accessible on the World Wide Web.  :(

I will keep watching the stats, and hopefully this is just some sort of glitch and will be rectified by the techies running the global routers.  So far though, just a few Bots seem to be making it through from Europe.

Home to Tarek al-Tayeb Mohamed Bouazizi, the Tunisian Fruit Vendor who Self-Immolated to begin the "Arab Spring"

Quote
Tarek al-Tayeb Mohamed Bouazizi (Arabic: محمد البوعزيزي‎; 29 March 1984 4 January 2011) was a Tunisian street vendor who set himself on fire on 17 December 2010, in protest of the confiscation of his wares and the harassment and humiliation that he reported was inflicted on him by a municipal official and her aides. His act became a catalyst for the Tunisian Revolution[2] and the wider Arab Spring, inciting demonstrations and riots throughout Tunisia in protest of social and political issues in the country. The public's anger and violence intensified following Bouazizi's death, leading then-President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to step down on 14 January 2011, after 23 years in power.

You are not forgotten on the pages of the Diner, MB.

More Thoughts on the DINER PLAGUE!
« Reply #89 on: May 08, 2015, 02:56:08 AM »
In contemplating this, I seriously doubt all of those 146 countries checking in have HUMAN EYEBALLS reading the Diner Screen.

In all likelihood, each country registered has a Security Agency with a Bot that scours the web periodically.  So the longer your site is up, the more likely you will get a hit from one of these Bots.

It's very difficult to separate out the Human Eyeballs from the Bots, on any Stat Sevice.
