Something I wanted from the very beginning on the Diner, which neither Peter or Harry was able to set up for me.

AUTOMATED NEWZ CONTENT FROM AROUND THE DOOMOSPHERE NOW AVAILABLE ON THE DINER NEWZ PAGE!!!!

If you go to the page, you will find a series of Tabs for your favorite Doom Newz & Analysis websites.  Currently I have Tabs for the following websites:

Economic Undertow
Our Finite World
Global Economic Intersection
Zero Hedge
Global Research
Salon
Futurology (Reddit)
History (Reddit)
Oil Price
Resilience
The Slog

Click on any tab, and you will get the 5 most recent articles posted to those websites.

This makes Diner Knewz the One Stop Shop for Doom Knewz!  You can scan the latest from many websites in SECONDS!  No more surfing all over the web to look for Doom!  It's all right here on the Diner!

I enabled html for the feeds, so anything you're interested in you just hit the link and it pops up in a new window!

I am taking suggestions from Diners for more Feeds to add to the Tab List.  If the site has an RSS Feed (and most do), then I can add it to the Widget.

I will now point the doomsteaddiner.COM url to the Newz Page instead of the Blog, where the doomsteaddiner.net url already points to.  This also adds ENORMOUSLY to our SEO, because the amount of new Content that goes up all the time is enormous.  It does it also without cluttering up the Blog with lots of nonsense.

This took integrating 3 different Widgets to accomplish.  I did it all by MYSELF!  No help from the Pros on this one!

Nobody and I mean NOBODY else in the Doom and Econ Blogosphere has anything like this!  This is totally UNIQUE (at least for now, somebody will copy the idea I am sure).

Send in your suggestions for websites to add to the list!  The Sky is the Limit here.

OK, after some research, I believe with the default WP setting, these readers only update once every 24 hours.  However, it is possible to speed this up with a minor Code adjustment.

I don't wanna fuck with the code, so I have called in the Database Cavalry from California to make that tweak.  I hope to have it set to update every 30 minutes.

After months of grueling hard work finding all that newz, and then RE having to put it all in HTML before placing it on the blog.......was it all in vain!! Oh....the lament!    We have been replaced by a newz gathering robot! Just like all the newz is talking about, all our jobs are going to be lost!

Job not quite done yet, I want it to Update faster for the rapid sites like Zero Hedge that put up many posts in a day.  Bots never get tired or bored with the job, so they can do the work more times in a day. 

It also doesn't have the great curation you did, picking out the juciest storiez.  But, since it can get many more of them up, the readers do their own curation and just pick the links they want to read.

If you have some other sites you used for finding storiez that have rss feeds, send me the links and I will add them.

Anyhow, your resignation turned out to be a bonus because it inspired me to do stuff I haven't done before in terms of modifying the WP package, installing plugins and so forth.  So I learned how do do something new.

Sure wish I was a Code Jockey.  There are so many things I have ideas for but I don't know how to code for them.

I'd really like to help you out here but it's been 20+ years since I've written code for a living...and most of the "popular" languages were very different back then. I wrote code outta college during the years 1983-1988 and 1991-1993. I was PC/Network Admin during the interim years....at a Fortune 500 company. I liked the PC/Network Admin job but the new boss had his guy picked from his previous job...so I had to go back to coding. Then I found another job.  How did it work out?  What is that saying about "greener pastures"?  I really hope H_Coward can help you out with the coding.  Haven't seen that sawed off boy post anything 'round here or at the SUN Forum for a loooong time.
