It isn't nice to use the "modify" button to impersonate another Diner. Moderators have a responsibility not to change or erase the contents of member posts. If a post is in violation of the Diner rules. we have established ways of dealing with that.

That is Jimbo Quinn stuff and if discovered is cause for a PERMANENT BAN, no Parole, no Leniency.   You are GONE for good from the Diner.  End of Story.

RE: Hitler pretty much definitely was, since there is a lot of evidence of the Death Camps and so forth.

If you read the banned French book "The founding myths of modern Israel", by Roger Garaudy, (2000), Hitler believed communists were the worst kind of people, and since the communists were lead by Slavs and Jews (Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev, et al) who he thought were the worst capitalist exploiters of the German people, Jewish emigration was promoted, then expulsion to (French) Madagascar, then deportation to Poland's work camps.

I was interested in the issue of a modification of a post, and decided to read backward, which is how I stumbled on this gem. I had no idea who Roger Garaudy was, so decided to learn.

Wikipedia tells us
Garaudy converted to Islam in 1982 after marrying a Palestinian woman, later writing that "The Christ of Paul is not the Jesus of the Bible," and also forming other critical scholarly conclusions regarding the Old and New Testaments. As a Muslim he adopted the name "Ragaa"[1] and became a prominent Islamic commentator and supporter of the Palestinian cause.

May we agree this goes to motive?

It seems to me that arguing the "lack of records" for death camps is much akin to the "teach the controversy" approach of climate change deniers who examine small anomalies in an overwhelmingly convincing wall of scientific data to"teach" a controversy that does not exist. Which, in the US, has led to the Trump Admin placing a fox in every henhouse.

Personally, I am ill-prepared to discard a mountain of documentary evidence regarding the Holocaust to accommodate the POV of Islamists who hate the notion of Israel almost as much as the Shia hate the Sunni.

Perhaps these wedding rings harvested from Jews were gifts to the Nazi regime?

But back to Garaudy:

In the book he wrote of "the myth of the six million" Jewish victims.[10] Because of this, French courts banned any further publication and on 27 February 1998 fined him 240,000 French francs. He was sentenced to a suspended jail sentence of several years. Garaudy appealed this decision to the European Court of Human Rights, but his appeal was rejected as inadmissible.[10][11] At his hearing, Garaudy stated that his book in no way condoned National Socialist methods, and that book was an attack on the mythologizing and use of 'the holocaust' by Israeli government as policy. He argued that his book dealt with the Israeli government's use of 'the holocaust' as a "justifying dogma" for its actions, mainly in Palestine and toward Palestinians.[12]

Sounding very much like the Arab position for the last 70 years.

The Nuremburg Tribunal accepted UN member government sources that the death toll at Auschwitz-Birkenau was 1.25 - 9 million, mostly from typhus, and since then Hillberg"s "Destruction of the European Jews" says 950,000 - 1.2 million.
Why would the Germans kill their own slave labour in such staggering numbers?

Do these guys look like teen are gong to be able to put in a 16-hour day?

Suffice to say that Hitler got a very bad press, and given that, we can assume Putin and Stalin got the same, and Kim Jong Un.

So did Pol Pot, Idi Amin and Slobodan Milosevic.

And I say these things as no friend the Likud government, under whose heavy hand Israel has become the Zionist Apartheid State, but that is a very different matter from the origins of the so-called "Jewish Homeland," for which the Jews fought both Britain and the Palestinians for independence in the immediate wake of WWII.

To be fair to Garaudy, the back cover blurb says he was "a decorated veteran of the French Army in WW2, was interned in a concentration camp for his activities in the French resistance. Garaudy was the leading philosopher of France's postwar Communist Party, and served as deputy speaker of the French National Assembly.  After his writings helped inspire France's 1968 student uprising, Garaudy broke with the Communists over the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. A convert to Islam, Garaudy has published over thirty books in more than a dozen languages."

The book is heavily documented with references, mostly from books and the Nuremburg Tribunals, which I guess could be checked, but I haven't done that.  I got the impression that he was an academic historian.  Obviously one would ask, "why would the Zionists have done that ?", so there is plenty of explanations that the Zionists have used the Holocaust to their advantage, and that their own apartheid system is a disgrace and like all imperialist propaganda.  That fits with my opinions.
