War is the Hardest Prep
« on: December 14, 2015, 07:29:01 AM »
This is a worst-case scenario for a global thermonuclear war as envisioned shortly before the Soviet Union collapsed. I think it was done by someone who lived/lives here in Austin, because it has a lot of details about what might happen here, particular as relates to the local AFB.

In the 1990's Bergstrom AFB was permanently closed and it's now the main civilian airport. Whether that means it's off the target list, I have no idea.

The takeaway here is that nuclear war won't kill nearly everyone. But many of the living will no doubt wish they were dead, before it all plays out.

One other thing stands out for me. In the event of a nuclear war, Texas will be a big fat target.
What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.
