Stratfor Hacked AGAIN!
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:03:14 AM »
Apparently according to Zero Hedge the CEO of Stratfor George Friedman has now Resigned resultant from repeated hacking of his website by Anonymous.

Leaked Email Shows Stratfor CEO George Friedman Resigned Two Hours Ago Over Latest Breach

It is only somewhat appropriate that the announcement of the resignation of Stratfor's CEO would come in the form of a leaked email that once again was intercepted by Anonymous.

It is with great personal disappointment I have to inform you that I will resign from my position as CEO for Stratfor to immediate effect.
Please rest assured that this decision was not an easy. But in the light of the recent events, especially the release of our company emails by WikiLeaks, I have decided that stepping down is in the best interest of Stratfor and its customer base.
I want to emphasize that this will have no effect on Stratfor's business or its members and we will continue to provide state-of-the-art intelligence services.
Regarding the latest breach, Stratfor is fully in control of the situation However, while I cannot take any personal responsibility for this incident, I still have to admit that mistakes have been made on our side. To be clear: We certainly do not condone any criminal activities by groups like Anonymous or other hackers. This is theft and we will continue to cooperate with law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice. But we must acknowledge that this incident would not have been possible if Stratfor had implemented stronger data protection mechanisms - which will be the case from now on. Indeed we will immediately move to implement the latest, and most comprehensive, data security measures.
While I played no role in our technical operations, as the company's CEO I do accept full responsibility thus will resign from my position effective immediately.
Again, my sincerest apologies for this whole unfortunate incident.
George Friedman

If true, this is a pretty significant "victory" for Anonymous, but at the same time one must remeber George isn't really that much of an "insider", he's just an analyst who has been peddling his viewpoint fairly successfully for a number of years to corporations and market traders, and about all the stuff I have read from Stratfor is pretty much the same kind of hypothesis I do all the time, just in theory George has more contacts to "insiders" who tell him stuff.

Another possibility is it wasn't Anonymous at all that hacked Stratfor, but rather some CIA Geeks charged with the task because George was saying stuff they did not like.

Now, no doubt George has $Millions stashed away and I doubt he really needs or depends on his Stratfor Income to Hobknob some with the Illuminati. He'll also likely start up a NEW Geoplitical "analysis" company, contact his same old Buddies he got info from before and set up a NEW (hopefully for him more secure) web server.

Really far as I am concerned neither Wikileaks or Anonymous has proved in any way they can hack out really IMPORTANT websites and networks.  if Anonymous could take down all the Bloomberg Terminals with a DDoS attack, then I would be impressed.  If Wikleaks could hack out the NSA emails or even the Rand Corporation, then I would be impressed.  To date, Anonymous has not done anyhting really systemically destructive and Wikileaks hasn't revealed any such damaging information as to bother TPTB much at all.

Its all rather just game playing, and I suspect a good portion of "Wikileaks" are leaked on purpose and its a lot of bullshit. Until the Hackers really pull off a Big One, this stuff mainly seems to me to just be distraction.
