Doomstead library for my chill'uns
« on: August 06, 2012, 06:49:05 PM »
Here is the first post in a series chronicling my efforts to build an extensive analog Doomstead library for my daughters, from the castaway detritus books of modern society.

First stop: Grosset & Dunlap

The gifts of knowledge and love of reading, gifts more precious and useful than gold.

There are some fantastic bargains available in the world of books that make for precious life long lasting gifts. I recently won a set of Harvard Classics at auction at a price so low I felt guilty. How I hope my grandchildren treasure them and read them

with relish.

I could not use a kindle if they were giving them away for free. Nothing can replace the look and feel and arousal of interest like a well designed book.    :icon_study:
