Good luck and good fishing. They are rather impressive fish.

And in AK, fresh salmon really IS fresh salmon. Mmmm.
What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.

The Kings are running big this year!  :icon_sunny:  I am semi-depressed that I can't do my own fishing, but I am going to buy a license and go out to the Little Susitna and see if I can get somebody to fish one up for me after he fishes his own up.  Alaskans are allowed to do that for each other.  I'll also cook up some Salmon on site and give it away, that should encourage the gift of at least a fillet or two.  At worst, I'll get some vid.  :icon_sunny:

I hope you manage to do this. Sounds great. Be good for you to get out in the weeds. Plus, you apparently work some wonders with salmon.

Off to the Little Susitna River this morning to go after the KING of Salmon, Alaska Chinooks 🐟.  :icon_sunny: They can run upwards of 30lbs.

SaVANnah is all packed up with the Mobile Kitchen apparatus, just need to load in the Ewz and some last minute items.  A stop at Freddie Meyer's for more last minute items, then we gotta find a place to set up shop and once we got it set up, Brandon hits the river to FISH 🐟.  I'll try to get some ACTION video.

I'll check in later tonight if I am not too wiped.  Expecting close to 90F again today.

My main computer is basically shot, and I need to switch to a different one, but doing all the moving around of equipment I have been avoiding doing this.

Until I get this worked out I will be pretty scarce around here.

Computer Woes Update
« Reply #1762 on: November 30, 2019, 12:03:02 PM »
My computer has had something of a Remission and hasn't crashed on me in a few hours.  The OP system however is very unstable.

I am doing poorly again also, not eating.  I haven't eaten anything since the Pizza I made for Thanksgiving.  I am getting weak again and sleeping a lot.

I don't know if I have energy to get a brunch article or video up tomorrow.

🎅 Computer Woes: Santa Amazon now sending my Christmas Present!
« Reply #1764 on: December 07, 2019, 12:20:49 PM »
OK, I gave it to myself.  ;D  Guaranteed FREE Shipping & Delivery on Dec 16th.

First brand spanking NEW computer I have bought in a few years.  Last year I bought a refurbished mini-tower for around $500, it's working great still and I have a HUGE monitor for it, 32".

My main computer, the Dell All-in-One 24" screen (3 years old) is limping along, after I get the new one all set up I will bring it in to the Code Jockeys at Computer Rennaisance for a complete refurbishing job.

This go-round it's a laptop,  at 14" smaller than the full size 17" ones I usually buy.  SSD Hard Drive, so no moving parts at all in the computer.  12GB of RAM, so it should handle even bloated Windows quite well.  I will split the hard drive and have LINUX on it as well as an alternate boot OP system.

Thin and light weight, should be perfect on my future jet setting trips to the lower 48.  :icon_sunny: It's a Lenovo 2-in-1 that works as a Tablet also.  $528, marked down for the Black Friday week long Amazon Sale from $1100.

A little late and not the laptop I originally chose, but it was cheaper.  It's mainly a Spare computer and mainly for trips to the Doc Offices and when Jet Setting to the Lower 48.  First new computer I have purchased in a couple of years.  Last year I bought a refurbished Mini-tower for $500.  That one runs my Big Screen (35") Monitor and it's great for my Vikings Gaming.

This one is a 14" dual purpose unit that works as a Tablet as well as a Laptop.  With a 14" Display, it's smaller than the usual full size 17" Laptops I usually buy.  Because of the size, the Numeric 10-key keyboard is also missing, but I don't use that much anyhow.  On the upside, this size fits better on the airplane seatback tables.

It functions quite well right now, and did not come loaded with too much Bloatware.  Price was $380.  I am however going to upgrade it with more RAM and also split the hard drive for a LINUX boot in addition to the Widows that it comes with,  I should have it up to snuff in a few weeks, then start the tedious procedure of loading it with my supply of Jurrassic Period software.  It has a Solid State HD, so NO moving parts in this one!  :icon_sunny:  Should last a while.

Specs:

Dell Inspiron 14 2 In 1 Laptop 14" HD (1366 X 768) Touchscreen|8th Gen Intel Core i3-8145U Processor| 4GB RAM|128 SSD | Windows 10 S Home | i5481-3595GRY

💻 Computer Woes: POWER DOWN!
« Reply #1766 on: January 26, 2020, 12:23:52 AM »
Uggghhhh!

I am working on my backup laptop now and cell phone 4G connection.  I am too beat tonight to work on patching in the batt systems.  So I will probably be scarce tomorrow.

I will try to get my Brunch Video up on Diner Utoob.  No article until this is fixed better.  I already uploaded it, just need to Publish it.  That doesn't use much bandwidth.

Take care of the Diner while I am gone.

Miracle Teenager Survives On His Own For Almost 6 Hours With No Wi-Fi

IN what has been hailed as ‘a miracle’, one Waterford teenager has reportedly survived in his home with no connection to the internet for almost 6 whole hours.

Answering to the name ‘David Gowan’, the 16-year-old was found in a distressed state yesterday evening, walking through a Dungarvan neighbourhood holding his Samsung Galaxy above his head looking for a signal and muttering incoherently.

The emergency services were notified and David was brought to a nearby Starbucks and hooked up to their Wi-Fi immediately. It remains unclear as to how the teen was left without internet for such a long period of time, and a search has begun to find David’s parents, with fears that they may have other kids without even a single bar of coverage.

“David survived without access to any social media or video sharing sites for the better part of an afternoon,” said an amazed member of Waterford’s child protection services.

“No GIFs, no memes, no porn. It’s incredible to see him in such good condition, considering what he went through. There’s grown adults who can’t go without internet for that long, let alone teenagers. God love him like, he didn’t even see the new Star Wars trailer yet”.

David was not available for interview, with rumours circulating that the poor youngster had lost the ability to speak in anything other than normal English, having not used emojis for so long.
