More of that karma of fame thing. I am saddened. He was a great talent, in spite of his huge ego.

No indication of the cause of death to the moment.  Only news that he had "flu-like symptoms" recently.
My "avatar" graphic is Japanese calligraphy (shodō) forming the word shoshin, meaning "beginner's mind". --  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoshin -- It is with shoshin that I am now and always "meeting my breath" for the first time. Try it!

I had a niece who died at 17 after catching the flu.  It set off an undiagnosed case of juvenile diabetes, and she died from a diabetic coma.  Flu can sometimes kill off the Insulin producing cells in the pancreas.

People on the radio this afternoon kept mentioning this video from George Harrison's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. I had never seen it.

Prince comes in to take the solo at about 3:25.

What a treat that was and what a score for whoever caught that guitar.

Nice find. I had never seen it either. Helluva solo. I wonder what happened to his guitar when he threw it up and the end-- out of camera range.

Had a number of my wife's family over last night, and a major point of discussion was the passing of the Purple One. Contrary brought up his Super Bowl show, which was held in a driving Miami rain:

I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why youíre here. Youíre here because you know something. What you know you canít explain, but you feel it. Youíve felt it your entire life, that thereís something wrong with the world.
You donít know what it is but its there, like a splinter in your mind
