Another Stupid Article About Texas Seceeding
« on: May 12, 2016, 10:49:30 AM »
When I was in college, in the 1970's, I had a prof who used to call it "Alamo Nationalism".

This Texas secession conversation is, at the heart of it, is being promoted by paid-for politicians who want to make it even easier for the corporations and oil barons to rip us off. As if it could be much easier.

The average Texan no more favors secession than he does making beer commercials illegal during televised football games. But Texas voters are nothing if not naive and easily manipulated. Just look who we voted for lately.

Too bad Texas could not have succeeded before it gave us George Bush and the Iraq war.

As soon as you guys pay for the Federal installations and give back Johnson Space center and the nukes, feel free to go.

"Alamo Nationalism," huh? Proposed by a bunch of "self-made men," no doubt.

Just when you thought the news couldn't get any weirder...

Actually, compared to the generation of swine running (ruining) our fair state now, Bush was a just a rich dumb frat boy whose worst trait was that he couldn't speak using coherent sentences.

Now we have Dan Patrick, Greg Abbott, and Ken Paxton. Each one trying harder than the next to capture the Rush Limbaugh vote. Texas voters love a demagogue.

Great phrase. Precise and apt.
