So....Mother Jones (which I always liked, btw) seems to be taking the side of the Ukrainian Nazis now. That's the way I read this article. You do understand these separatist groups she was trying to arm are the same ones RE's idol Russell Bentley is fighting with, right?

Yer kidding, right? Of course I do, although the bulk of the article has to do with her attempting to arm Crimean separatists. Arming Ukrainians may have occurred but it seems incidental to the thrust of the article.

The Banderist government of Ukraine is full nazi, which is why they have the backing of the US. The Russophile opposition for whom Russell Bently fights is clearly organic. The US neocon war machine likes to assert that Russia invaded Ukraine. Had Russia actually invaded, the story would already be over, and the Banderists would already be a bloody spot on the road to Kiev.

Maybe I wasn't clear.

My point is that Mother Jones, a left leaning rag if there ever was one (albeit generally honest and forthright), seems to be trying so hard to find something to add fuel to the "Russia Collusion" story, that they've written a story villainizing a Russian whom they might have,  on some other occasion, have been more likely to see as fighting on the side of the good guys.

The Crimean separatists are the Marx and Jesus crowd Tex Bentley fights along side, no? Do I have that wrong? And Maria Butina was arming THEM, right? That's what I thought. Please correct me if I'm somehow confused here.

I mean....how is her behavior so "dark" if she's running guns to the righteous resistance.

Do you not see the irony in this?

You are confused.

1) Bentley was/is fighting in Dombass, in Easter Ukraine, not Crimea, alongside Russian separatists against the "Ukies." or what I call the Bandarists, (in recollection of Stepan Banderas, a noted Nazi collaborator in WWII. Several years ago neonate Ukraining crowds held aloft banners with his image. Some posted here, in the bowels of this beast.

2) For you to refer to the "Russia Collusion" story in quotes means that you have some doubt as to whether the Trump family grift and half of the Republican Party is awash in rubles. that requires a level of denial that I can't even contemplate.

Thanks for setting me straight. Appreciated.

I just make a distinction (and I think we all should) between Trump's organization's constant money grubbing, which has been ongoing since long before he was a candidate, and the idea that there is some direct smoking gun where some actual quid pro quo was promised in exchange for Putin delivering votes via social media fakery or some other means.

I don't even question that Russians meddled in the election. They clearly did, and still are, and probably always will and so do others. I doubt that can be completely eradicated, unless the internet is heavily censored, which would be overkill, for sure.

i still doubt that anyone will ever go to jail for conspiracy charges or espionage or treason.

As I  have said, since the election, Trump is guilty of many crimes. Some of them have even been outlined by various journalists. I still think there is a good case against him for money laundering in the past...and of course he lied during the election about their real estate deal  plans and who-know-what else. He is a crook and a serial liar.

But I still doubt the Mueller investigation has or will turn up anything that leads to impeachment. And at this point, one has to question the length of time  that the whole thing has taken, and exactly where Mueller thinks this is all going. We're into the next election cycle. It's time to put the cards on the table, whatever they amount to.

But...with that said, no one would be more happy than I would be, if he got led to jail in handcuffs. But it's still quite unlikely in my view.

There is no point to impeachment now.  Trumpovetsky is doing a first class job of destroying what was left of the Repugnant Party, and in my view at the moment, there is no way he will win in 2020.  The Demodopes can tie him up in CONgress for the next 2 years, and watch the Repugnants descend into political anarchy with one faction fighting another.  Why impeach in this situation?  Makes no sense.

Since the "trial" would take place in the Senate and there is less than no chance of a conviction for President "I Could Stand In the Middle Of Fifth Avenue And Shoot Somebody And I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters," what would the point be? Let the daily news cycles do their best, and the Dems avoid rousing the disgust of Uncle Cracker.
