Ophiocordyceps unilateralis overpowering and ant
Click the picture to view full size.
Ophiocordyceps unilateralis overpowering an ant demonstrates the power of a supposedly primitive life form (fungus) to manipulate a higher life form (ant) to aid in fungi sporulation by having the ant climb to a high location before it dies. This flips the Darwinian concept that more "advanced" life forms always have an evolutionary advantage over "simpler" life forms on its head.
