How to update SSL certificate
« on: June 24, 2016, 07:17:29 PM »
This will only apply to those with CPanel credentials for "", and is here for reference in case I kick the bucket.

We are on our third 3-monthly SSL Certificate now.

If you have a hosted website with CPanel and  SSL capability, which basically requires a fixed IP Address and usually requires extra fees, you can do the same thing for your site.

How to update SSL certificate

Go to which is one of several portals for LetsEncrypt.
Enter "" in the box and click Create.
Click on Manual Verification.
Click on Manually Verify Domain.
Download the 2 token files.
In a new browser tab, go to - the CPanel portal, and log in.
Using CPanel's File Manager upload feature,
upload the two token files to DD's  /public_html/.well-known/acme-challenge/   folder.
On the SSLForFree tab,
click on the two links in section 5 to see the 2 new tokens are found OK,
click on the Download SSL Certificates button, this will display 3 boxes for Certificate, Private key, and CA_Certificate,
copy and paste the 3 files into a plain text editor and save them somewhere secure as a backup.
On the CPanel tab, go to Home > Security > SSL/TLS > Manage SSL Sites > Update Certificate,
you will see 3 boxes that correspond to the 3 boxes on the SSLForFree browser tab.
Copy-paste the contents of the 3 boxes, make sure the Enable SNI is checked, click on Install Certificate.

To check everything is working,
go to ,
for Firefox (probably very similar for other browsers):
click on the padlock symbol in the browser's Address Box,
click on the arrow,
click on More Information,
click on View Certificate,
check the Begins On field is today's date.
